    Lowepro 300 Reviews

Flipside 300 Backpack (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 458.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great new design This is a great new design by Lowepro. I was in the market for a new pack since my Slingshot 200 AW did not have a place to carry my tripod. This one works well. The zippered compartment being against your back adds a level of security for your gear in crowds. Very comfortable shoulder straps and a minimal waste belt that can be tied back if not used. The only draw back I see is that this could be a bit wider, just an inch or two would allow for much more gear to be placed inside. I carry a Canon 20D with grip, Rebel XT (350D) with grip, kit lens, 50 f/1.8, 70-200 f/4 and Tokina 12-24 along with the assorted cables and filters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flipside 300 Backpack I bought this bag specifically to carry my Nikon D300s with the Nikon 200-500 f5.6 with lens hood reversed. It functions perfectly for this. I also carry extra camera batteries and cleaning supplies plus two or three additional lenses such as a 24mm 2.8 and 50 mm 1.8 No problems. When the kit is set up and straps are properly adjusted there is easy access to the gear w/o removing the bag from my waist. This was a great purchase and allows me to keep this system ready for a grab and go photo shoot at the beach when the surf is up or whenever I want to hit the trails for some wildlife photography. I'd give it 5 stars if it has a built in rain cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for city use. I bought this backpack for city use. I don't think that it is suitable for outdoor, trekking, etc, because there are no compartments for water bottles, munchies or raingear. For city use I like the way the equipment is accessed--from the backside. No access when it sits on your back which will make it tough for pickpockets to fumble something out of it. There is only a small pocket outside that can hold menory cards and small / flat items but I hardly ever use it. The size is just right. All the stuff I need fits in (a pro-size DSLR body (EOS 5D Mk. II, 3 zoom lenses, a Lensbaby, lenshades and a few filters, plus cleaning equipment for lenses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect bag for a day trip...even with long zoom(s) Needed a smaller bag for day trips since packing my AW pack full of gear (could never just half fill it) was just too heavy, and bulky, to lug around...especially when in crowds. I can fit my camera body with battery grip and either my 150-600 (a little snug) or 80-400 (just right) attached. With the 80-400, I had room to put my 20mm in as well. I could also put my EM5MKII body on one side of the lens, and put my 100-300 sit in the groove and it would zip up fine with no bulkiness. The pouch holds my filters and the pocket on the outside holds extra SD/CF cards, lens paper, business cards, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable I am going to comment on the durability of this bag first. I bought this bag about 1 week before going on two consecutive vacations. On the first trip, I encountered rain and the bag kept my gear dry on the inside, although I do not recommend for heavy rain. The bag handled the 100 or so miles of trekking fabulously and I have no complaints. If you have a large DSLR such a Canon xxD or xD, or a Nikon Dxxx, do not count on being able to carry more than the body, a 70-200 f2.8 lens, a mid-size lens, and a flash along with all the filters and batteries and cards. Overall, this is a great bag is very well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size and solid construction As someone who does a lot of outdoor photography (nature, hiking, climbing), this pack is perfectly sized to carry a reasonable amount of gear (2 - 4 lenses, 1 - 2 bodies, speedlight, batteries, CF cards, etc). It also keeps the gear well organized, is well padded and sturdily designed for a comfortable experience. And having the access zipper against your back is great, as others have mentioned. I haven't taken advantage of the tripod, but it seems well designed. One neat addition would have been a waterproof shell that stores in an bottom exterior pocket that extends to cover the entire pack, as LowePro has done on many of their packs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Right Price Right Quality I work at a University and needed another quality bag for my student photographers. The price was right and it was the size of bag I wanted to hold just a small amount of gear (Nikon D750, 70-200 and a 24-120 lens and a flash) for the quick easy assignments across campus. I don't mind the flip side entry but wish the zipper extended a little further so flap would stay open. It tends to want to close back on you making it more difficult to get equipment in and out. I have a Think Tank Street Walker bag that is the same size as the Flipside but much easier to pack, even more comfortable to wear but it's 3x the price so Flipside is perfect for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Bag I cannot imagine a more perfect bag for its category! I took mine to Kenya & Tanzania on a safari, which included roughing it up a little: (1) visiting villages which had cow dung ALL over the place and (2) going through jungle/woods. In it I packed: - Canon 5D Mark II body - Canon XTI body - Canon 35mm f/1.4 L - Canon 135mm f/2.0 L - Canon 100-400 f/3.5-5.6 L - Tripod on the back - Water in side pouch - Accessories (20 spare batteries, 7 compact flash cards, 3 filters). I love this bag! The rear zipper makes it perfect for ensuring nobody steals stuff from your bag while you're wearing it!
