Giottos SP8306 Overview

The Giottos Aegis Professional M-C Schott Glass LCD Screen Protector for Select Canon / Sony A / Olympus / Nikon / Leica / Fujifilm Cameras is a professional optical screen protector for your digital camera. The German "Schott" optical glass is rigid and protects your LCD screen against scratches, abrasions and impact. Additionally, it's a mere 0.5mm thick. Twelve layers of anti-reflective coating on each side ensure great visibility. Say goodbye to residual images and ghosting with this screen protector, which also withstands UV light.

Translucent glass from Schott protects LCD against scratches, abrasions and impact
12 layers of efficient AR / anti-reflective coating on both sides. One removable protective membrane, one anti-fingerprint coating by nano technology, and one waterproof coating by nano technology enclose the 12 layers of AR coating, creating a layered "sandwich." A double-sided, super heat-strengthened sheet of optical glass is inserted right in the middle of the 12 layers, dividing them into 2 groups of 6.
TESA 4972 double-sided tape is easily mounted and seals LCD, preventing liquids and dirt from getting in and causing damage

Best screen Protection For Your Cameras

I have used this product for my Nikon D700, D800 since 2014, when I upgraded to newer models, Wanted only the Best as well. The original cameras still have their filers since I first installed them. Says, a lot, since as a Professional, I travel a lot, These screens Work!! Not too high a price to pay for protection to Camera Screen.Especially when you consider the cost of the camera!

I purchased the Giottos protector for my new D850. Nicely made, good material. The weakness in the design is the black frame printed on the perimeter of the glass - a black frame designed to hide the adhesive. With the 850’s touch screen, that makes it tough to see and contact the edges of the screen for scrolling, etc. Touch screen still works well with the glass in place - Just more difficult to use at the edges.

Later copies have a distinct war color cast

Products of this time absolutely need to be perfectly clear and without color cast. Giottos is not, at leas in the current products. The old versions were fine.

I was told during an online chat that this lcd screen protector would fit my E-M1 Mark II but it is to small and does not cover the entire screen.

Does Not Properly Fit a Fujifilm X100F

The optical and build quality of the Giotto's Aegis LCD Screen Protector is excellent and installation is extremely easy. But, the SP8306 does not completely fit the Fuji X100F and since it has the same size LCD, I doubt it would fit the X100T either. I did quite a bit of research in a number of places, including B&H, before ordering the SP8306 and it was indicated as the correct screen protector for my X100F. There is a label on the package listing the X100 as one of the cameras it fits. Problem is that the original X100 and X100S have 2.8 inch LCDs, while the X100T and X100F have 3 inch LCDs. The diameter of the screen protector looks like a closer match to a 2.8 and does not cover the entire 3" LCD but, the height is too large for either size. On the X100F, the best fit leaves a small part of the LCD glass exposed on the left and the protector's black frame cuts a bit of the LCD screen off on the right.

The Giottos Aegis Professional M-C Schott Glass LCD Screen Protector used a thin sheet of Schott optical glass and is extremely solid and reliable. I first saw these when I bought my used Leica M8 and M9. The original owners has put the screen protectors on quite a few years before I both the cameras and screen protectors looked brand new. I began using them on other cameras I bought, removing the old film protectors that a lot of people use and adding Aegis protectors. I have recently done the same with the two Fujifilm X100S cameras I bought, adding an SP-8306 Aegis protector on each of them.

This is a universal, one-size-fits-all, type of LCD screen protector and will not fit perfectly onto the Fujifilm X-H1 3.0 LCD screen. However we would recommend the Vello LCD Screen Protector Ultra for Fujifilm X-A3, X-A5, X-T1 & X-T2 Camera (B&H # VEGSPUFXT1 MFR # GSPU-FXT1) as it is made for the Fujifilm X-T1 and X-T2 cameras which share the same 3.0 display as the X-H1.

The Compatibility tab on the above item lists compatibility with the older Sony Alpha A500 and Sony Alpha A700 DSLR cameras. While I could not find a current compatibility list on Giottos website, if you are looking for an alternative glass screen protector for the Sony Alpha a7R III, I would recommend the Sony PCK-LG1 Screen Protect Glass Sheet, B&H # SOPCKLG1, the Vello LCD Screen Protector Ultra for Sony a1, a7 II, a7 III, a7C, a7R IV, a7S III, a9, a9 II, RX10, RX100 Series, ZV-1, and FX3 Camera, B&H # VEUSPSA72R, or the Expert Shield Glass Screen Protector for Sony Alpha A7R III Digital Camera, B&H # EX001MYAZEZ, for your usage needs.

Boyd at B&H Photo is incorrect. The Giottos SP8306 Aegis Professional M-C Schott Glass LCD Screen Protector fits the X100S LCD Screen perfectly, because both the X100, listed as compatible with the SP8306, and the X100S use the identical size LCD in the same body position.

The Giottos Aegis Professional M-C Schott Glass B&H # GILSPCERXSI is meant for 3" screens. The Canon PowerShot SX60 HS Digital Camera B&H # CAPSSX60HSB has a 3" screen. You are good to go.
