  • 1Description

The 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub from IOGEAR turns one USB 2.0 port into four. This is a great choice for users who are tired of constantly swapping out cables to connect their multiple USB devices. This compact hub's small size is perfect for notebook computer users and ideal for anyone who needs to expand their computer's USB capabilities.

The hub allows you to expand your USB connections. Users often need to connect external drives, iPods, digital video cameras, memory card readers, and other external devices to their computer via USB connections. Adding a hub will allow you to quickly make these connections without constantly swapping cables.
Compact Size
The hub features a compact size and integrated cable, making it a perfect choice for notebook computer users. Notebook computers often only have a few USB ports, making this a necessary accessory for the mobile computer user.

    IOGEAR GUH285 reviews

    4-Port USB 2.0 Hub is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 119.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Petite and Perfect This worked right out of the box and is exactly what was needed. After quite a long conversation with one of B&H's technicians (Sorry I don't remember his name) about the hub and other products needed, I think we made all the right choices. This hub is tiny - just the right size for me. It has 3 ports on the long side and 1 port on the short. It's really cleverly made. I'm using it for a wireless mouse, keyboard, and printer and the response time is exactly the same. If all you need are 4 ports, this is really inexpensive and terrific, regardless of price. By the way, it does NOT have an adapter, it plugs directly into the computer. It also has a 3 year warranty

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but has awkward geometry I didn't check to see how fast it is, but didn't notice anything unusual, which I can't say for all the hubs I've bought over the years, some of which even did damage! It has an unusual problem: For the PC for which it was intended there was no way of turning or twisting it where it didn't create problems of blocking something else, facing in awkward directions, etc. This is a problem I've never had before. I solved that problem by swapping it out with another hub on the back of the main PC. The downside is that there's now a bright green LED shining at me now from there, but oh...well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 inch cable works well A number of reviews complain about the 2 inch cable but I like the way works on my Toshiba laptop which has a USB port on the left side whose rear edge is an inch and a half from the rear edge of the computer (slightly under 2 inches when the lid is open). With the 2 inch cable, the usb hub lies neatly behind the computer when it is open, almost like having 3 ports in the rear of the computer and one on the side. If you have a left side port whose rear edge is less than 2 inches from the back of the computer when open, it will work well, otherwise you'll need an extension cable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I bought this to provide additional ports for a MBP. Product has a flimsy connection wire, as noted by another reviewer. Not a real issue unless you will be constantly plugging/unplugging. On mine, only 1/4 ports appears to be stabile. The other 3 drop connections, work intermittently, etc. (When using with an external HDD, for example, I will often get an ejected improperly message after the drive disappears. iPhone also gets dropped or not recognized. Probably a power issue with those ports. You get what you pay for. Not worth the shipping to even return, IMO

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best buy item Handy item to have for your laptop USB connectivity. Organize your USB ports accordingly and allow connection of multiple USB devices at one side of the laptop/PC rather than both sides and or the back of the laptop/PC. It also helps the visibility of available USB ports rather than searching left, right and back for available USB ports. Normally, I connect the USB mouse on one side of the laptop while this item connects to printer, USB broadband modem and flash memory stick. I purchased this item together with a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job! Simply put, my Macbook Pro has two USB slots... I needed some more. I was aware USB hubs existed but wasn't so keen on spending $30 plus for one. I took a trip over to B&H, which was actually my first trip to this store, and the sales associate pointed out some good hubs. This 4-port USB 2.0 Hub by Iogear caught my eye because of its price and sleekness. $$ When I arrived home, I opened it up, connected it with ease, attached 4 pieces of equipment to it which require USB slots and everything worked. Great buy so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful little gadget Gives you 4 mor USB2 ports with power. I use it to connect protable USB drive, powered from the USB port, card reader, and couple of 3.5 USB drives. I have only one remark about the way its USB plug is being stowed away. It is very hard to take it out without using a screw driver or some other tool to pry it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job... I use this USB hub with my laptop while I am traveling. It is small, lightweight, very portable, and very easy to use. Just plug it in and plug in the devices you need to use into it and away you go. Why pay for the very expensive portable/travel USB hubs when this does the job?
