Sennheiser ew 100-ENG reviews

ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone Combo System - G (566-608 MHz) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and user friendly Replaced my Sony equipment with this set, as it was highly recommended. After initial testing it seems very suitable for me as a documentary videographer, often filming in difficult environments like tropical remote areas or construction sites. Use it connected directly to the video camera or to the Zoom H4n recorder. What I miss is phantom power for the handheld mic, which the Plug-On Transmitter don't supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the wireless mic to get. I have used other wireless mic systems in the past but this takes the cake. It is the best wireless mic to use as a lapel. It is a professional grade wireless mic system. You get what you pay for. The last one I used was a cheap $ that didn't work the way we wanted to. This one does everything that we need it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Addition Just getting into video with an XA20. Read the built in mic was not great. Bought Sennheiser MKE600 and was very impressed. Thought it would be in the way on some shoots so I snagged this one. Setup was s-i-m-p-l-e. Connected with XLR cables. Tried it out and worked well. Sound is perfect. Up and working in 5 minutes. Sennheiser has a great video for setup. Just for yuks I tried it on a D800 with 3.5 connector that was included and performed equally as well. Sennheiser appears to be the leader in this category.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wireless System Totally Happy I Got It I only used this wireless system 3 times so far and I can say they're GREAT!!! I haven't had a problem with them yet. With that being said I have had a few issues. Well with this issue is more of a fear than a problem but the antennas on the transmitter and receiver definitely has me worried about putting it in my camera bag because I can see them being ripped off while in my bag. Make sure you pay attention to the Plug-On Transmitter because I ran into a huge problem because I didn't realize the mute was pressed. Lastly, their is a slight learning curve when using the system but as you work with them you'll quickly figure it out. I still got to give this system an 5 stars because those issues I have are way too minor to even worry about. Now again I've only used these 3 times so far and my opinion may change later but as of right now; they're a great system to own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable sound I am impressed enough with the Evolution G3 wireless mic system that I now use it for all of my regular field interviews. I used to feel that I needed to go hard-wired whenever possible just to be safe, but I have only experienced one very brief audio interference noise glitch to this point and that one time I was 75 yards from my subject. I look forward to using the system as much as possible!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent combo unit with flexibility This is an all around decent wireless unit. A lot of frequencies and easy selection of pre-programmed channels as well as customizable frequency settings. I bought one of these a couple years ago and just added a second unit recently. Great for interviews, presentations, lectures, etc. Works well with most video cameras and mixing boards, field recorders and more. We also film musicians and bands and connect the transmitter directly to mixer outputs to capture sound while our cameras are roaming around the stage. The transmitter also works well on boom poles for run and gun audio capture. The standard Omni mic supplied is decent and better lavaliers are available to work with this unit. The lav has a metal mesh snap on wind screen which seems better and less likely to fall off or get lost than a foam wind screen. Built pretty good. Overall, this is a reasonable deal for a wireless combo system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! As a media trainer and public speaking coach, I must record mock TV interviews and practice speeches. I had been using a small boom mic attached to my camera's XLR adapter/accessory shoe but the audio quality wasn't to my liking, especially if the speaker was too far away from the camera. The Sennheiser wireless microphone combo system is excellent! I purchased an additional receiver so I could put a lav mic on the reporter and on the spokesperson for the practice TV interviews. For the speech/Q & A sessions, I use one lav mic for the speaker and a wireless stationary mic for the audience members (to record their questions). The mics are very sturdy and sleek. I had been a television journalist/anchor many years ago and these mics are in that professional league, in my opinion. I watched a YouTube video from Sennheiser to help with the initial set up of the microphone equipment. Although it was largely useful, it left out some key details (e.g., preparing the receiver to mount on the camera). The manual explained it a bit better. However, I ended up figuring out a lot of things on my own. In fact, it took quite a bit of trial and error to thoroughly understand the set up and the operation. Eventually, it all made sense and it's incredibly easy to use. I especially like the scan feature that quickly identifies the frequency banks for unused channels. The sync feature is also great. It's so easy to synchronize the transmitters with the receivers. For some reason, the audio quality of the wireless stationary microphone changes (i.e., becomes less resonant) when I use it in conjunction with a wireless lav. It's still usable and, to the untrained ear, it's probably negligible. It could be user error. I still need to play with the sensitivity levels to get the sound just right. All in all, it's a great product and it definitely meets (even exceeds) my expectations. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this Sennheiser equipment The first time I used this equipment was on a couple of ambient mics while recording a stage play. There was a dozen or so other other wireless mics around and I had some problems. So; I read the instruction book and learnt about scanning for other frequencies. Now I always scan and I'm absolutely amazed how clean the reception is and how easy the Sennheiser equipment is to use.
