Works very well with the glidegear 6002 system also. Exact same size as the camera plate on glidegear stabilizer.

Solid weight, Holes don't match though

Bought this for added weight for my Glidecam HD4000, works great but the holes on the weight don't match up perfectly with the holes on the glidecam. Manageable, but not a perfect match.

Purchased this for my HD4000 Glidecam and Panasonic GH4 rig. Works perfectly! Helps to balance everything out well.

Great accessory if you have small camera

I bought 2 should of got 4. The weights are 1/8 thick, and pretty good weight to them. I have a glidecam HD2000 and small Sony NEX 5R. I ended adding 6 more weights from the glidecam to the top to make it heavier top. Then I put these 2 plates on top so it still looks nice. Highly recommend to anyone needing extra top weight. One thing I wish it had more holes but no issue, I have a drill and 1/4 Drill bit.

Solid Weight Plate

Does exactly what it says it should. Makes the top of the glidecam slightly heavier for light cameras. I was able to mount a light camcorder and balance it correctly with this plate. I did not need it for my canon t3i however.

Worked for Me

I got this for my son because his small camcorder was too light for the glidecam HD 2000. We tried putting bolts and other weights on the plate first, but this works much better.

Does the job but built somewhat poorly

It does the job it's meant to do (add weight to the upper axis of my glidecam for a lower drop time with my GH4) but, as I believe other reviewers have noted, the holes on the weight plates and the glidecame 4000 pro baseplate do not match up exactly. I was able to overcome this with some creative fastening but could be problematic to some purchasers. Seriously, it's a slab of metal with holes punched in it, you would think they would go to the effort of matching it to the product they're accessorizing.

This plate allows me to stabilize my smaller camera much better. Great buy!

question

What's the best way to secure this to the top of a Glidecam 2000HD? A camera quick release bolt works ok but ideally I want more than one spot to keep it from twisting on the Glidecam top plate
Asked by: David S.
This specific weight plate for the Glidecam 2000 is not a good match, and you may find its too heavy if you're wanting just a little top heaviness. Even so, if you manage to align two holes from this plate on top of the Glidecam 2000,you'll find the size and hole placement of this weight-plate does not allow any centre alignment at all, and once you do successfully screw it on, an excess of plate will be hanging off one side or the other. You should be able to find the perfect sized nut and bolt at your closest home depot, just two pairs of nuts and bolts would do the job, and might need a bolt slightly longer than the camera quick release bolt, just by couple mm.And even if you wanna balance this oversized plate ontop of the Glidecam 2000, you'll find after screwing this thing on there will be no placement holes for your actual quick release plate, maybe but in an undesirable place for practical uses. So its pointless. My advice would be to install your quick release plate on top of your glidecam, as far back on the Glidecam surface as possible, then there will be available holes in front of your quick release plate where you can bolt on a normal extra weight plate, the ones provided with the glidecam, in front. If you bolt it downwards you should have no problems with any obstruction of camera plate or lens when you mount your camera. You can fit upto two plates with no problems, with only one bolt, with no rotation issues, since the shape of these plates should fit quite snug against your release plate, there are only so many configurations on this surface. This will provide good top heaviness, as well as front heaviness though, which can be accounted for.Hope that helps! Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year to all u star shooters. Payce!
