    Audio-Technica Consumer ATLP120 reviews

AT-LP120USB Direct Drive Professional DJ Turntable with USB Output (Silver) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 266.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sleek and well made turntable Getting back into records again after 20 years has been a joy with the LP120. I like having more control over playback and arm balance than the older models from years ago. The black version is really sharp and looks great with other black stereo components. I'm seriously considering removing the preamp the unit comes with, as I personally don't need it, and also since it routes the signal through several capacitors even when it's switched to phono (not using the preamp), the sound signal suffers from a noticeable loss in high end frequency. Something to consider if you're after the best sound possible. Otherwise, it's an outstanding turntable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Was Looking For I've been looking for several years for a turn table such as this. The reviews convinced me to buy and I have to agree with the high rating. Set up was easy; you have to read the directions carefully. I had trouble with the software. I use a Mac. I thought the software might be out of date. I checked the internet and found a beta version that works just fine. The software site (@) has excellent, detailed instructions for understanding how to record. I have recorded several LP mono and stereo records both jazz and classical. The results have been more than I could have imagined. This is also a nice looking machine and worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the money, couldn't do better! I don't think you could do any better than this turntable--certainly not for the money. Most impressive; direct drive, HEAVY cast aluminum platter, built-in pre-amp. Sound quality is superb! I have a large vinyl collection that is now, yikes, 30-40 years old. Owned a Dual turntable and Marantz receiver acquired in the 70s which I finally had to retire,so the vinyls have been in storage. I did a considerable amount of research online before settling on the Audio Technica. The sound quality has surpassed my expectations. It would be hard to find anything to criticize. Great to have the music back!! Highly recommend. (Have yet to make use of the USB feature and software.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfactory Player, for the Price, Good This is a record player that I have bought as a replacement for the lower priced ATLP60USB model that I purchased previously. When it arrived, I noticed the stark visual similarities between the two models, but noticed the more high-tech components of this model over the other. I would say that this was an improvement that was worth the money. So far I have used it quite a decent bit, and have had no issues. The only downside was that the CD included simply had Audacity, a free application that can be found online. Instead of using that, I used Adobe SoundBooth to rip and process the audio. Overall, I am quite pleased with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as it should Replaced a PL-400 that was 30+ years old, no one locally to repair it. Not able to spend alot right now for highend equipment. Researched what is available new and used, decided to try this one. Received the newer AT95E cartridge with the TT and I'm very pleased with the sound quaility and features it has. Moving my albums to MP3s for traveling. Still useing my Amp to sound card set up, so I haven't used the onboard preamp. Using Spin-it-Again program to edit as before, so I can't review the inclosed software. I may try them later, if not it is good to know I have options if needed. B&H shipped quickly and well packaged. I'm very pleased so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine product Recently decided to CD-ize my vinyl collection and after close examination of my old Thorens turntable, I decided to go with a USB turntable for this job. The reviews on B&H site helped, but mostly I relied on the Audio-Technica brand, having used several of their products in the past. I wasn't disappointed in the quality, performance and extra features of this turntable. Also, the external packaging was damaged in UPS shipment and I was reassured by the B&H staff that if any damage was done to the turntable, I could return it for a full refund or replacement. Fortunately, the inside packaging was undamaged and the turntable has been working flawlessly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Major Flaw I purchased this AT turntable to transfer records to digital files. I assumed that this "professional" turntable would have everything necessary to perform the job. For the most part, it works well, but for one major flaw: the turntable continues to spin when the record is over, the tonearm does NOT automatically raise or shut down, and the needle continues to scratch across the center label - effectively destroying the needle, unless you are there to catch it at the finish of the record! Automatic shutdown seems like a basic requirement that is missing and is reason enough for me to return this turntable and get another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must buy This a real nice turntable and easy to set-up and use. Looks I for the 5 mile nite tutorial on you tube. The built-in pre-amp feature allows you to connect directly to multimedia speakers or use a receiver/amplifier to connect to speakers. The stylus, anti skating and adjustable arm features provide for smooth operation and a great audio sound! They also have a lever to raise/ lower the arm, pitch control and reverse play. Nice features if you want to experiment as a DJ at parties. Great record player at a very affordable price of $299 plus tax. Free shipping. A must buy for a record lover in the market for a new record player.
