    Sony NP-FV70 reviews

    NP-FV70 Rechargeable Battery Pack (1960mAh, 6.8-8.4V) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 197.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing battery life! I was able to shoot an entire wedding including pre-ceremony photos, the ceremony and the reception on one charge! It was about 5 hours of HD shooting, and there was still charge left in the battery. I'm using a SONY Handycam HDR-PJ710.I have no idea why I did not buy this before now. In the past I have consistently been running out of power in places where I was relying on battery power and I had no spare. While this battery is much bigger than the original it came with, I did not find the size or weight to be a real problem. I did notice that it took awhile to charge it the first time. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in Japan B&H Photo is an authorized Sony dealer so I ordered again from them.Placed this battery in my Sony BC-TRV travel charger just minutes ago. 4-hour+ battery life!Apparently there are some batteries at some websites arriving made in China (authentic?) and this one made in Japan that arrives with the Sony official paper warranty. Look for made in Japan. This shorter but similar plastic package is the one to receive as it's the battery made in Japan. I've ordered from B&H forever because they deliver the real thing and back what they sell. It's my professional level stress-free optics dealer by far. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally worth it This battery lasts a long time and is completely essential for using my Sony HDR-CX560V HD 64GB FLASH CAMCORDER/GPS. I don't use an external charger, but just charge it attached to the camera. The battery seems to last for hours. I've had it running continuously for shows lasting a little over an hour. On trips which I use it on and off I maybe charge it once in two weeks. I'm thinking of buying another one just in case but I've only needed one in the 6 months I've had the camera. The one that comes with the camera doesn't last long at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works I have the HDR-XR550, and the NP- FV50 that comes with it only last a little over 100 mins when the screen is flip out,the NP-FV70 last 214 mins when fully charged. which is enough for shooting all day for my travel plus I still have the fv50 as back up. I did thought about the FV100 but its over 5cm so it sticks out way too much from the battery socket. The FV 70 is in good size, it is inline with the view finder. The battery doesnt hold its chrage well. It will slowly drain itself. But thats the problem with the fv 50 also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth it! This battery doubled my shooting time from the stock battery (Sony HDR CX 560V camcorder). It's about double the depth of the stock battery, but doesn't really add any noticeable weight to my set up. I get 4 hrs. at max HD recording mode. Get one! You won't regret it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good battery for 4 hours of use Bought an extra battery for my Sony HXR-NX30u camera. I shoot a lot of corporate events, weddings, exercise and music videos so having a battery of this size lasting for 4 hours is sufficient. My oily nit-pick is the travel charger BC-TRV. It takes just over 4 hours to charge a completely expended battery. That means if I need to use it again, when my second battery dies within that 4 hour period, it won't be fully charged. I recommend purchasing the NP-FV100 battery as a second and/or third battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Go bigger I didn't go large enough. This battery is a good backup to the 100 class battery. I would suggest going as large as possible. These batteries don't last as long as the previous Sony batteries did.As the saying goes...go big or go home.
