Moves around in headphone jack

I bought this as a replacement cord for my headphones, unfortunately the jack is loose and if I don't stay perfectly still it moves around and sound fades in and out.

Is this cable suitable for recording from a tascam 70D line out to a DSLR?

Yes, this could be used to connect the 70D to a DSLR with a 3.5mm mic input. Please make sure the 70D output level is set as camera out when making that connection.

Is this cable 5' long when coiled or uncoiled?

I world call and ask someone to actually look at the package. When I ordered, I was sent a 5 inch coiled cable, not a 5 foot coiled cable.
