A general-purpose contrast filter for black and white photography, the 52mm Yellow MRC 022M Filter from B+W helps to increase contrast when working outdoors by suppressing blue and other cool tones. The medium yellow of the color results in a darkening of blues and greens, while lightening yellows, reds, and other warm tones, in order to produce a more naturally appearing outdoor scene. This results in increased cloud definition and reduced atmospheric haze for improved clarity.

This filter features a Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC), which helps to lessen surface reflections and ghosting for maintained contrast, and the coating also resists scratching, dirt, and water for physical protection. Schott glass is also used to maintain imaging integrity and optical clarity, and it features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Standard yellow filter provides the same effect as a Wratten 8 contrast filter, and helps to darken blue and green tones, while lightening warm yellow and red tones, when photographing in black and white.
Helps to produce natural-looking clouds and works to clear distant light haze for a more accurate portrayal.
Filter factor of two requires one additional stop of exposure to maintain normal results.
Multi-Resistant Coating helps prevent ghosting and surface reflections and is also scratch--resistant as well as water and dirt repellent to physically protect the filter substrate.
Constructed from Schott glass for optical clarity.
F-Pro brass filter ring helps to prevent jamming and provides additional strength.
Plastic case included for storage and transport.

52mm Yellow MRC 022M Filter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Contrast Filter for Black and White This is a phenomenal filter. Like all other B+W filters, the Schott glass and brass construction is rugged and optically perfect. The filter ring is thin enough that I have not noticed any vignetting on any of the wide angle lenses that I've used it with. If yellow is the contrast filter that you need for your work, you can't go wrong with this filter in any size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality! I like and use both Hoya and B+W contrast filters for B&W film photography. Though I cannot see any difference in the actual images, it is definitely worth paying the extra for the MRC versions of the B+W filters when it comes time to clean them - they are *much* easier than the single-coated ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Contrast Filter Just picking up this filter the first time, it felt like a quality filter. It has performed as expected on the LF landscapes I've used it on. Highly recommended if you're shooting black and white film. I chose the multicoated version to match my multicoated lenses, but I don't know if there would be any visible difference with a single coated version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using with a Yashica mat 124g Only used on one roll of 120, but works well. I screwed it into a bay1 adapter and it doesn't block the viewing lens. Much less expensive than Bay 1 mounts and I can use it on my nikon lens for 35mm BW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellet A must have for film B&W.
