Logan Graphic Products Artist Elite Reviews

Best mat cutter for domestic use

Compared to similarly priced items, this model has more features (e.g. like the little pin on angled cutter to prevent mat from slipping when inserting the blade for bevel cuts). Good built quality and easy to use, lots of tutorials on Logan's website to help. Considering how expensive custom framing is, this will pay for itself after 5 or 6 artwork framing. Excellent choice for the hobbyist. Would not recommend for commercial use, unless very light throughput (10 -15 / week).

What a great product!

After a great deal of research, I selected the Logan 450-1 because it looked like it would meet all my needs perfectly...and it lived up to all my expectations. The product craftsmanship was of extremely high quality; assembly instructions were clear; assembly was easy; and the product performs perfectly. It's rare when a product in real life lives up to all the hype of the manufacturer, but the Logan 450-1 certainly does. The videos on Youtube were extremely helpful as well. Thanks Logan for a job well done and a great product!

question

Is this mat cutter capable of cutting mats thicker than 4 ply?
Asked by: Stephen
Yes... first, the straight cutter is capable of up to and slightly beyond the 3/16 foam core boards and the angled mat cutter can be set for the standard 4ply and extended to deeper cuts simply by adjusting the lock screw and extending the blade as far as you need. Of course you don't want to go but a bit beyond what you are cutting to save on the blade and the slip sheet. Hope this helps.
