This is the official Canon lens hood for the 35mm f2 IS lens. Works great. Is $50 bucks a little steep? Ive seen Leica lens hoods going for $800 bucks! My advice is never be without a lens hood. It makes a difference in the photos and protects the lens from collisions.

Will this fit on the Canon 180mm macro lens?

The lens that is compatible with the Canon EW-72 Lens Hood for EF 35mm f/2.0 IS USM Lens, the EF 35mm f/2 lens, has a 67mm filter thread, while the 180 macro lens has a 72mm filter thread, so this lens hood would not fit.

This hood is designed by Canon to be optimal with the focal length of the lens. It is designed to fit it in a special manner, they do not have any alternatives. We do carry generic hoods that could fit, but would not necessarily be as optimal for the lens.
