Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY to use I have two main thoughts with this product... 1. It is easy to install/take off the Rode VideoMic pro. I read reviews on other dead cats, have used other dead cats, and this one is a breeze to use. I don't feel like I'm destroying the mic while attempt to put this one on. 2. It provides adequate noise reduction. I think you're setting yourself up for failure if you think you'll get superior noise reduction out of this or any other dead cat for this mic. For superior noise reduction it may be best to get a boom mic/blimp setup. Most of the time I use the VideoMic pro/mini windjammer for my reference track. If it's you're only source of audio, you may look at a more elaborate set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right choice Bought for Rode VideoMic Pro. A friend bought the Rode version. The Rycote is not as snug, it's snug enough, but is far easier to put on and take off. Rode is more black, Rycote is gray. Rycote reduces the wind noise well, don's ask for miracles if winds are high. Performance is good, my friend is equally happy with his Rode dead cat performance, with the exception of how tight it is, and that it sheds. I don't know yet if the Rycote will shed yet. I read many reviews to decide which dead cat to buy. I'm glad I picked the Rycote.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works good, could be a little cheaper I'm using this with DSLRs (Canon) and GoPro Hero3, and it does the job well, to a certain level. You have to check the different settings on your mic (i use it with the Rode VideoMic Pro) for all the different combinations before deciding which mic settings to use. It does filter the wind pretty good, but of course not 100% of it. Definitely not 100% in cross-wind conditions. On the other hand - a little bit of wind sound can make it sound more real in an outside location (compare to a totally filtered, clean sound which might sound unreal/ dubbed). Overall i'm happy with it, just wish it could be just a little bit cheaper; 1. it sheds a lot, 2. The build is good but really simple, so for such a simply built piece of textile i believe they can charge a little less.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It helps! I'm using this for outdoor ambient audio gathering. It extends the range of conditions that acceptable audio can be obtained. It doesn't seem as effective as other Rycote Windjammers I have but I am not certain if the Rode mic is more sensitive to wind noise than my Sennheiser shotguns. I leave it on all the time outside and would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have for Video Mic Pro Purchased this to improve the filming of outdoor interviews and events. This product dramatically reduced the pops and whirls I was getting in my sound files. An added bonus is the low price for the quality of gear you are getting. Would recommend to anyone doing documentary work or event filming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! A deadcat is the best friend of any mic in windy situations, when filming a wedding or any outdoors location. It does its job but I really don't like that all that fur comes out so easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If using an on-camera mic, use this too. I tell my students never use an on-camera mic. However, sometimes you have to. And if you have to, you need this. Fantastic fit. Good results. And it looks impressive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great! Works really good. Fits over foam windscreen nicely. Seems Durable. Wish the elastic on the back stayed down better. I taped it to keep it from riding up.
