Really happy with the image on this monitor. The blacks and contrast are the standouts for me, and I am glad to have it in my editing setup.

Good but too dark

I just got this monitor (PA32UCDM 4K 240 Hz) to replace one of the monitors from my two monitor display. So now it's this one on my left and an Asus PA32qcv 6K monitor on my right. It's like looking out the window on a bright sunny day (the qcv) vs. a cloudy rainy day (the UCDM). And herein lies the problem with current Oleds: too darn dark. I mean, if you like the gothic dark look you will like this monitor. Yes I know, better contrast, true blacks, blah, blah. But the thing is dark. I have the newest Oled 16" ProArt laptop and it doesn't have the darkness problem. My iPhone Oled screen doesn't have this problem. The technology for getting a bright image on a big Oled monitor just isn't there yet folks. I'm using this monitor when I need a faster refresh rate (the 6K one is capped at 60hz), and as a "reference monitor" for color accuracy, but brace yourself; I almost was going to return it when I first turned it on. The supposed 1000 nits doesn't make an appearance very often (I have yet to see it, but I don't use HDR). I will say the 6K monitor is a little too bright and when you edit your photos or videos so it will probably look darker on most other devices. Anyway, I've decided to do my editing on the new Oled, then enjoying the finished product on the other monitor in all it's bright color popping glory.
