Distinguished by its fast design, the XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR from FUJIFILM is a general wide-angle prime offering a 35mm equivalent focal length. Ideally suited to discerning street, wedding, editorial, and documentary photographers, the lens's bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and enables greater control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. The optical design incorporates two aspherical elements, which helps to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations, and three ED elements have also been applied to produce a superior image with high contrast and sharpness. Additionally, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm is featured, and contributes a smooth bokeh quality.

FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 LM WR Reviews
WOW!! Buy This Lens! Better Than Fuji 23mm f2
After owning the Fujifilm 23mm f/2 WR lens for a year I recently sold it to purchase the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR Lens. The 23mm 1.4 has faster autofocus, better colour rendition, better contrast, and better in low light. Yes, the 23mm f/2 is smaller and weighs less. Is the 1.4 as discreet as the f/2? Who cares! I've learned I'd much rather sacrifice weight to get better quality images. I used to hate the 35mm focal length but ever since switching to the 23mm f/1.4 WR Lens it has taught me if you don't like a focal length, it could be the lens. The Fujifilm 23mm f/2 the sharpness just isn't there unless shooting in bright sunlight. Fuji does make some good f/2 lenses, like the Fujifilm 50mm f/2 is amazing, but if you want the best, as of 2026, get the Fujifilm 23mm f/1.4 it doesn't even weigh that much more than the f/2. Amazing for landscape photography not just street photography. If you want a smaller lens than this, get the Fujifilm 30mm f/2.8 it has faster autofocus and better colour rendition than the 23mm f/2.
Versatile and Sharp
Moved from the Sony a6xxx series to Fuji and picked up this prime. It's a great focal length for my shooting and love the versatility. I've been shooting wide open and have just simply not been disappointed with what this can do combined with a X-T50. I find the size very manageable and it feels good in the hand. I was originally going to get the Fujicron but decided to just go for the best.
