DJI BG18 Overview

Use this BG18 Grip from DJI to handhold your Ronin-SC gimbal. The grip attaches to the main gimbal connector and contains an 18650 lithium-ion battery with 2450mAh, 7.2V capacity to power your Ronin-SC gimbal for approximately 11 hours.

The grip features LED battery indicators on the side to let you know when you need a charge, and you can charge it up via its USB Type-C port with a separately available 5V, 2A power adapter. The grip has ridges for your fingers so you can hold it comfortably and securely while shooting. It features 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads on the bottom for mounting onto a tripod or mounting other extension accessories.

It's the same model as the original so it makes sense that it's an exact match for the original. Using the camera connection cable while shooting is great for clip start/stop, but it does drain the Ronin battery after a few hours. it's great to have a backup!

The gimbal never runs anywhere near for The battery time listed on the gimbal specs so definately buy at least one extra one of these if you buy the gimbal.

Is it posible to use this battery with the original ronin S?

It is not. This battery is only for the Ronin-SC. The battery for the Ronin-S will not work on the Ronin-SC either.

It is not. The Ronin-S and Ronin-SC have their own different and specific battery grips.

How can you charge this? I hope the answer isn’t through the gimbal itself. It would defeat the purpose of having 2 batteries.

It's really silly design. This extra battery grip should come with USB connector so you can charge it while using gimbal with other grip. With this all you can do it to make sure you charge both grips before you start video shoot.

Is it possible to charge another device off this handle, like a cell phone for example?

The DJI BG18 battery grip for Ronin-SC gimbal will only power the Ronin SC gimbal and does not have the ability to charge or power other devices.
