Gets the job done, with one critical issue

I waited a while to write this review to see if I could make use of this device and adapt it into a functional workflow, because there is a severe limitation to it. I bought this device after reading a previous review about this exact limitation, but didn't consider it to be as much of an inconvenience as it's become. I love the size and slim profile of this unit. It doesn't take up much desk space, which is important to me. All of the inputs and outputs work well for my workflow. The issue comes down to running two additional monitors from my MacBook. I also have the bigger Ivanky hub for another workstation, and it runs two additional monitors perfectly on HDMI and USB-C. This particular unit requires the Display Link Manager app, which is a standalone app, to run two extension monitors (it doesn't need it for just one). I figured that it would function as a behind-the-scenes extension. It does not. It was pretty cumbersome to get set up to begin with, allowing permissions and such. However, even now that I have it properly configured, there is considerable drag on that screen. The mouse doesn't move smoothly. Dragging windows to that screen is slow. It just isn't responsive to any kind of movement. So, I've resorted to using that screen for windows and apps I like to keep open, but don't necessarily need to use constantly, like Mail or my music apps. If you need all monitors to perform at peak for moderate to complex use, this dock, which requires the DisplayLink Manager, is a major limitation. This dock may not be for you. Otherwise, it's great.

Will this support two separate monitors on an M2 MacBook Air? Can the laptop's screen itself be a third?

The iVANKY 14-in-1 FusionDock Pro 1 can support using two external monitors and the built-in display on an M2 MacBook Air when used with the DisplayLink Manager software.
