BE WARNED - I thought in upgrading to the Aputure brand I was getting a higher quality product, better support, and a superior product. Within 4 months our barn doors broke in this kit and the company does not warranty or repair accessories.

This kit has so much potential; and yet, as a new filmmaker, I could easily get a 3-point lighting set up to look good with this!

The Aputure STORM 80c BLAIR-CG LED Monolight (US) is pretty bright, with an output of 19,850 Lux at 3.3' w/ Reflector. If the light is over 3.3' away, you might want a brighter light. And/or if you are using it outside.

Is there a gold mount battery option?
Is there a gold mount battery option?
Asked by: Brian
Note that the v-mount bracket on the yoke of this light does not power the unit. It simply holds a battery and you use the d-tap port for power. So a v-to-gold adapter would let you hold a gold mount, and use its d-tap port (which needs to be rated at 100W output to run the light at full power).
