    Ubiquiti USW-PRO-XG-8-POE Reviews

    Awesome little switch!

This thing is awesome. Plenty of power for AP’s or cameras, and blazing fast with 10gb all around. Got it connected to my udm pro with a DAC cable. Lost a star due to the fact that you can’t use the L3 switching functions without losing ips/ids. So I let the udm pro continue handle the switching. Other than that it’s pretty close to perfect.

    Network Upgrade

I recently added the Ubiquiti Pro XG 8 to my network from B&H Photo, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade. The 10G performance is excellent, and having PoE++ available on every port made powering and managing my access points extremely simple. The build quality is solid, and the switch integrates seamlessly into the UniFi ecosystem. What really stood out was how easy it was to bring my access points online. I’m running a mix of the UniFi U7 Pro, UniFi U6 Pro, and UniFi U6 Mesh units, and the switch handled all of them without any extra configuration. As soon as they were plugged in, they powered up and were ready for adoption in the UniFi controller. That plug-and-play experience made scaling the network much easier than expected. The U6 Pro has been great for general indoor coverage, while the U7 Pro delivers top-end performance and future-proofing with WiFi 7 support. The U6 Mesh units have been especially useful for extending coverage to my front and rear porches, where they provide strong, consistent connectivity both indoors and outside. Having all of these APs powered directly from the switch without separate injectors keeps the setup clean and efficient. B&H delivered quickly with secure packaging, as always. Overall, the Pro XG 8 is a powerful and flexible switch that makes deploying and managing multiple UniFi access points simple. It’s an excellent choice if you want high-speed networking along with clean, centralized PoE deployment.
