GVM TQ-L Overview

Flexible choice in camera selection and prompting monitor make this GVM LED Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App an attractive teleprompting option for location and studio use. The prompter allows you to take advantage of your iOS or Android device's capabilities to run prompting software, display text, and be controlled by a Bluetooth remote, eliminating the need for both a monitor and a computer. The included cradle supports tablets and iPads, including the iPad Pro 12.9"

The prompter's 70/30 beamsplitter provides clean, easy-to-read text to your on-air talent and the AR coating helps prevent ghosting or flaring from degrading the image your camera captures. The back of the prompter supports lenses with outer diameters from 80 to 150mm, and it includes a lens hood to protect against flare from behind the lens. The camera mounting platform features 2.75" of height adjustment, allowing you to work with small cameras as well as ENG type cameras. An included Bluetooth remote allows you to control the GVM prompting app including scroll start/stop and scroll speed.

I've Purchased This Teleprompter 3 Times Now And Love Them All. It Feels Professional And Looks It. I've Used A Tablet And Phone To Help Reflect The Scripts For My Videos And Other Productions, And It Always Does A Great Job. I Will Say That The App Takes A Bit Of Using To Get Use To It, But It Works Solid, IMO. My Only Complaint Is That This Teleprompter Doesn't Come With A Carrying Case. So, On Projection Shoots, You Have To Pack It Up In The Box. Not A Fan. But The Box Is Well Packaged To Keep It Safe. Also, The B&H Rep Said They Didn't Have A Case For It Unless Purchasing The Upper Package That Comes With A Tablet. So, Boo. But, Overall, The Build Quality Of It Is Great And Takes Your Production Level To The Next Step.

If you need a teleprompter, this one is a good one.

I purchased this in April 2023 and received it a month later. I got this one because it was on sale from their already affordable usual price. From my experience using it, it has a big screen and platform to fit my Samsung tablet which is what you need if you're keeping the camera far away. The glass is relatively clear but has an effect on contrast when using it compared to when not. This is not something unique to this brand, it's just a reality of using a teleprompter and shooting through another piece of glass. The only downside of having a big teleprompter like this one is that it's bulky. It's the unfortunate trade-off of wanting that bigger screen. If there was a company that could develop a design that could easily flatten in seconds, that would be the winner of all teleprompters. I recently shattered my glass and was offered a free replacement if it was within 1 year of purchase after contacting them about my issue. Unfortunately it's been longer than a year for me so I could not take advantage of this, but I wanted to add that info here because I was unaware of that warranty. They do sell replacement glass though so that's good for me. Customer service has been quick and pleasant so far.

Yes, the GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App must be disassembled in order to fit into a case.

What's the actual weight of just the prompter ...

What's the actual weight of just the prompter (without tablet/monitor)? The specs have the package weight as less than the item weight, so that's obviously incorrect.

According to our specs the GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App weighs 16.5 lb. GVM has not released their specs for the GVM TQ-L so we do not have any other specifications to go off of.

The GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App cannot accommodate a laptop. It is only designed for use with tablets and smartphones.

If you are using a tablet or smartphone. What type of trip do you need for this? I have a tablet to mount for the teleprompter, but I am recording on a smartphone, so just wondering if I need two tripods, one for the recording device and the other for the prompter. Thank you.

Can you mount this prompter directly to a light stand or does it have to be attached to the camera?

The GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App would work with strong tripods. A light stand probably would not support the prompter and camera weight. Yes, the GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App (B&H# GVMTQL) comes with a Bluetooth remote that can be used with almost all Android OS-based tablets running a version of Android OS from the past five years. Please be sure to turn on Bluetooth prior to use.

The GVM Teleprompter for Tablets and Smartphones with Bluetooth Remote and App will accept tablets in the size of Max Dimensions: 11.8 x 8.9" / 30 x 22.6 cm allowing it to fit the Apple iPad Pro 12.9 as well as 13-inch iPad Pro tablet sizes. It is among the largest available.
