Rugged Chassis with Belt Clip & Volume Control
Built-like-a-tank, and featuring an impact-resistant metal chassis, the PM1 was made for the road and will give you many years of dependable, highest-quality performance. When you do need to move around, say to change your amp or stomp settings, PM1's built-in belt clip will always keep it close at hand. Just slip the PM1 onto your waistband or belt and let the good times roll.
The PM1 features an extremely high-quality volume control for dialing in the perfect level every time. Designed for long life and super-smooth performance, this detented control stays where you put it.
Locking XLR Input & 3.5mm Headphones Jack
Because your monitor is crucial to your performance, the PM1's XLR input connector accepts standard mic cables and features a locking mechanism to prevent accidental disconnects. Just press the tab next to the bottom-mounted connector to release the cable at the end of the gig. It is important to note that PM1's XLR input is not designed to accept balanced line signals taken directly from your mixer, as an amplified source is required. For connecting a stereo source, such as your headphone amplifier or mixer's headphone output, you should use a TRS-to-XLR (male to male) cable.
You can use your favorite headphones, earbuds, or custom-molded professional in-ear monitors (IEMs) with the PM1, thanks to the top-mounted, standard 3.5mm stereo output jack.

Behringer PM1 Reviews
Great if you know what you are buying

Build quality is great at this price level. Metal made box, strong belt clip and great feeling knob. You have to understand that this device is made to be used with headphone amplifiers, and not directly connected to line-level outputs on mixers. If you do that, it will work on some mixers (those that use symmetric balancing on its outputs) but on others it will only output sound on one ear (those with asymmetricaly balanced outputs). In both cases, the sound level is going to be lower than when used properly with an amplifier between the mixer and this beltpack. Line-level outputs are not made to drive directly headphones (but that doesn't stop people from trying and in some cases it may even work).
When used with a headphone amplifier you will need a male trs 1/4 to male xlr cable because most amplifiers have 1/4 stereo outputs
It could be nicer if behringer adds a switch for mono-stereo operation and a combo connector for 1/4 and xlr input, but that will probably put the price on a different (higher) level, like their powerplay P2 model.
Highly recommended for those who do know what they are getting
great for drummers

i was turned on to this product by a sound engineer at a gig i played recently. I was using a small mixing board as my in ears setup for volume. Once i knew about this, bang, i ordered it through b&h since my school uses them to purchase cameras and stuff for our department. got my pm1 in a week from b&h, and it works spectacular.
