They recommended this to replace SDI cable that I have to run over 300'. It simply did not work no matter how I hooked it up.

These worked great for me. Would totally recommend. Had a small issue with resolution at first try but after a quick call with their tech team i was made aware that 1080p resolution had max distance of 50ft with cat6. 150ft is with 720p or less. All in all, great product. I'll definitely use in future jobs.

question

Can these be used to run internet service over cat 6 cable? I only have cat 6 cable run from back of house to closet where modem sits. I want to switch to Cable internet service and can't run coax cable. Looking to use these on each end of the cat 6 line as service line from outside of house to audio / video closet where cable modem would sit.
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm afraid not. This is an extender set for SDI cabling, which is not the same signal used by Cable Service Providers. You really will want to consult directly with your Cable Provider for assistance with this matter.

question

Can these be used on each end of a CAT 6 cable to transit cable service from outside of house to supply a cable internet modem in a audio video closet? I have an existing CAT 6 cable that AT&T uses to supply internet service to my audio/video closet where modem is located. I want to switch to Cable internet service but it's impossible to run a Coax cable from outside to A/V closet where modem needs to sit.

question

Does it require power to work?
Asked by: Anonymous
No. This is a passive balun. It will require no power as all it does is take the signal and transform it to run it down Data cable.
