YC Onion Pineta Pro Overview

The Pineta Pro Carbon Fiber Monopod with Pedal Base from YC Onion is a monopod system with a single locking lever that allows all three leg segments and the tripod foot base to be extended, positioned, and locked in one action with the pro-style ergonomic brake lever as well as a lock button. The monopod extends to a maximum height of 63.8" with a load capacity of 22 lb, and folds to a compact 30.7" for easy storage or travel. Quick Release Plate
A two-button release system ensures security while maintaining convenience when attaching or removing the plate to the monopod. A 2-in-1 screw allows you to switch between a 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting screw for compatibility with a wide variety of equipment. A set screw on the plate adds further security and reduces the chance of your gear shifting when mounted.
Pineta 2.0 Pedal Base
The pedal design of the base allows you to swivel or rotate a full 360°, while an adjustable rotating collar allows you to control the amount of resistance when panning or tilting the base. The adjustable feet can be configured into two angles for your desired height or folded up to reduce the footprint of the base. An included removable rubber foot attaches to the center of the base via a 3/8"-16 screw. When detached from the monopod, the base can also be used as a standalone tripod for tabletop or low-angle shooting.

YC Onion Pineta Pro Reviews

High expectations, Low quality

I tested the monopod as soon as I received and I was pretty happy on how it operates. However after only five minutes of using it in my kitchen I realized that the lower part of the rod is no longer locking in place. When I press the trigger to set the monopod to the lowest setting and try to move it around, the lower half of the monopod will extend without me pressing on the trigger. After multiple attend to make it stop from sliding up I realized that the lower half does not have enough resistance from holding the weight of the legs. Another thing I noticed is that once the mono pod is extended half way and I push down on the rod with the lock mechanism engaged it only takes a little bit of force to push down on the monopod. I had high expectations from this monopod. unfortunately the quality control is nonexistent. I will be returning this and never buy any products from YC Onions ever again.

YC ONION PINETA Pro Monopod – Honest Review

I bought this monopod and have used it only twice. On the second day, the zipper of the carrying bag completely broke when I opened it, which was really disappointing. The monopod itself is very good and works perfectly. However, the bag clearly has a manufacturing issue. Because of that, I cannot recommend this monopod for the bag, but apart from this problem, everything else has been fine so far.

The load capacity of the YC Onion Pineta Pro Carbon Fiber Monopod with Pedal Base is 22 lb. You will also want a tilt head or, at the very least, a clamp and a long Arca-style plate to help you balance the long lens over the center of the monopod.
