The Nanuk 938 is the only case in the market in its size. It is a deeper nanuk 935 (pelican 1535) which is perfect for objects that are deeper and unlike the competition, this case does not become 2x the wide size of the carryon. This size makes it really friendly to store in the apartment and stack the cases on top of each other without taking too much surface area. I did not want a huge and wide case and it would have made it really annoying to move around the camera. I was looking for a case where I could fit my film camera vertically and the additional magazine and I needed 11 inches of clearance height. The 938 is the only of its kind to offer me this solution. I was able to fit a super 16 camera, 2 magazines, zoom lens, and accessories. First time buying nanuk and it impressed me with the features they offer. Definitely purchase the lock for the case or the lock latches to secure it for travel. You do have to check in the baggage unlike a carryon case but its not incredibly bulky and

The Nanuk 938 Wheeled Hard Case with Interior Foam (Black, 51.1L) has exterior dimensions of 23.8 x 15.5 x 13.2" / 60.45 x 39.37 x 33.53 cm. The maximum for most domestic flights is 62 linear inches in either length, height, or width, but it is best to check with the individual airline each time you fly.
