RDL EZ-MCP1 Overview

The RDL EZ-MCP1 Microphone Compressor provides consistent audio output at all levels up to 30 dB, helping to improve overall sound quality and detail. It compresses incoming signal with its fast, automatic level control, eliminating undesired noise such as clipping and distortion - always appreciated by your audience or customers. This compact dynamic processor is ideal for paging and public address systems in houses of worship, restaurants, clubs, schools, conference rooms, and commercial sound systems but can also be used in most any basic recording application.

The EZ-MCP1 is used by connecting a microphone to its front panel XLR input and outputting to a mic-level mixer or amplifier. Simply begin talking through the mic at a normal volume and adjust the convenient, front panel level trimmer until the LED begins to flash. This lets the box know to bring up the volume when at the specified level and turn it down when it goes above, keeping the signal the same at all times. That's it; just one simple adjustment and you're ready to go.

Installing it is just as easy, offering multiple options to mount it on walls, under counters, or in an audio rack.

RDL EZ-MCP1 Reviews

A little compression for an aging voice.

I was looking for a microphone level compressor to use on my ham radio station. My old voice has a tendancy to get softer and louder making it difficult to keep the power levels (SSB) up where they need to be. I remember using a Gates Sta-Level (SP) in the 60's that solved the same problem on a small broadcast station. This RDL EZ-MCP1 microphone level audio compressor works nicely, I can now have multiple transmitters switched in and out without changing individual microphone gain settings. Just wish it would run off of 12 Volt. I may try it and see what I get.

I will shop here again

Will this compressor work with wireless mics?

I'm running one of these between an old Shure PGX2/58-PGX4 combination and a Shure automatic mixer in a church PA and it works fine. So I wouldn't rule out using it with a wireless system.

question

Hi, I have a dynamic mic connected to a preamp and then into my audio interface. Where would the microphone compressor go in this chain? Thanks!
Asked by: Nate P.
With the RDL EZ-MCP1 the unit would connect between mic and preamp.
