The Ricoh G700SE Digital Camera has a 12.1Mp 1/2.3" CCD sensor to capture JPEG stills and 1280 x 720 HD video. The zoom lens not only provides a 5 to 25mm focal length, but it also puts 5x optical zoom at your fingertips as well. The camera also accepts 37mm filters for added protection or achieving a desired look. In regards to metering, the G700SE has multi light metering, center-weighted metering, and spot metering. The camera is capable of ISO ratings of 64 to 3200 (standard output) as well. Additionally, a built-in flash ensures that even shots in the dark or low light will come out.
For composition, review, and menu navigation, the G700SE has a 3.0" LCD on the rear of the camera body, giving you a generous platform on which to create your vision. Of course, without memory, you'd be going nowhere with the G700SE. This camera features an SD/SDHC and SD WORM card memory slot. There is a nominal 103MB internal memory which can be used for a few shots, giving you a small margin of wiggle-room.
The camera was designed with harsh environments in mind, such as a work site or hospital. Having gone through numerous tests, the G700SE is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 16' (5.0 m) for a duration of 2 hr, and can stand up to a drop of 6.0' (1.8 m) and cold temperatures down to 14°F, among other extremes. It can even be operated with gloves on! A camera this tough will most definitely be able to survive your toddler as well. Additional tough-minded features include the use of industrial strength disinfectants on the device, such as sodium hypochlorite and ethanol.
Additional features of the camera include the novel, such as bar code reading for saving product information or other codes for future reference. The camera also comes equipped with Bluetooth Ver 2.1 +EDR function and wireless LAN (802.11b/g) functions. This allows you to send your images to a smartphone or other digital device, such as a computer. Other features, such as adding on an optional GPS unit, are available for the G700SE as well.
