    Nissin MF18 reviews

MF18 Macro Ring Flash for Nikon is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my second one // Great product // It fits perfectly on all my Nikons (D70, D90, D7100, D800). I am a dentist and deal with macros every single day. This ring-flash is absolutely plug 'n play. Nikon does not have a ring iTTL like this; I have all (SB29, SB200 - kit, Medical, 105mm - old model, 105mm - new model, 200mm macro). It also works as a remote for the SB200 allowing great light compositions when you have the intention and the time. If you are in the regular hurry of the practice it's fast and simple - in a touch - more or less light - in another touch - more light to the left or right side - some shadows and depth. In a more than extreme hurry ?! - go auto mode - and it's done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MF18 - Excellent performance MF18 is used with a Nikon D7100 and a 40 mm Nikkor Micro lens. If D7100 is set to auto and the flash is set to auto you may get very underexposed results. However, with very minor setting changes, the results are stunning. Use it as a master flash to a Nikon SB-800 and a SB-910 with outstanding results. The MF18 comes with a series of lens adapters which cover all 6 of my lenses. The modeling LEDs could have a higher Lumen output but is acceptable. Have recommended the MF18 to my other colleagues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Is an outstanding product. First of all, I purchased this ring flash to be used on a nikon 200mm F/4 macro lens. I always wanted this lens and finally decided to add this lens to my nikon family of glass. Now I have a new photographic assignment, that well require a ring light because I well be photographing artificial iris patients. As soon as I received the ring flash it went right on the 200mm without any problem using the 58mm adaptor ring (included) with the nice case that holds all of the adaptor rings as well as the command and flash unit. Simple to use and understand, and perfect exposures with a very small learning curve. I well be using this flash for all kinds of macro opportunity to use it both inside the studio, and outside as weather permits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Dental Staff We are an Orthodontic Practice. We use the Macro Flash for patient photos, before and after treatment. We do head shots and intra-oral photos. The Staff are very please with the quality of the pictures and the ease of use of the flash. We would highly recomend this product as of today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed. I am an amateur who dabbles in event, street, and sports photography. I wanted to move into portraiture because I get a lot of requests this time of year to take (free) prom pictures of the debs in the 'hood. I needed a softer light and could only afford one purchase. The results with this unit, even combined with simple ambient light were just what I wanted and, frankly, startingly good. It was plug-and-play and continues to work without issue. It does require that red-eye (and pet-eye) be removed in post, but that is very simple. I now think that I am a better photographer than I really am, but at 67, I'm okay with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a ring flash that works well I have been taking close-up photos for years and have never found a flash that works well in all environments. The Nissin MF-18 Macro Flash works great with my Nikon D5300 and Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Works great, simple to use. Note that it does not include a 55mm adapter ring which is required if you have a Tamron or Tokina macro lens
