The MF18 is high-speed sync (HSS) capable to 1/8000 second when shooting in TTL or Manual mode (1/1 to 1/64). The tube flash design is divided in half, allowing you to vary light output depending on the lighting conditions. Specially constructed for the MF18, additional adapter rings can be purchased separately for lens sizes 49, 52, 55, 58, 62,67, 72, 77, and 82mm.

What is the power - in w/s - of this flash?
Asked by: Craig
The Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash is a great flash for macro photography. It is a powerful TTL flash with GN16 (82 Ws) at full power, and offers Manual power control from 1/1 to 1/1024. The flash tubes can be controlled independently in Manual mode, or you can set an A:B ratio when using TTL. The MF18 also features 4 LED lights (2 on each side of the ring) that can be quickly toggled on/off by pressing the "Set" button for 2 seconds. question

How does this unit attach to a macro lens. Other companies with similar product spring load onto a retaining ring. Is this the same with this product?
Asked by: Anonymous
To attach the Nissin MF18 Macro Flash for Nikon to a lens, you attach an appropriately sized adapter ring to the front thread of the lens, and attach the flash head to the adapter. There are then four mounting tabs on the inside of the flash head that you need to press down into the grooves of the adapter ring.
