Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 from Vienna Symphonic Library is a mixing and hosting application, custom made for hosting Vienna Instruments, as well as third-party 64- and 32-bit VSTi (Windows) and Audio Units (Mac) instruments and effect plug-ins. Use it as a host on the same computer as the sequencer to integrate all instrument and effect plug-ins from manufacturers such as Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Waves, and more.
Additionally, the software can be used for a master-slave solution with multiple Macs and PCs, all connected with a standard Ethernet cable. It is easy to route the audio streams of a whole arsenal of computers back to the main machine without the need of external hardware. The Preserve function keeps all of templates and samples loaded while switching from one project to another. The Pro Tools user may integrate their favorite Audio Units and VST plug-ins into their sessions.

- Full integration with Vienna MIR PRO (not included) which can be opened with a single click from within Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 - inserting Vienna MIR PRO on any channel of Ensemble PRO 5 will route the channel's signal to the MIR application, which may run on the same computer or slave computer connected with an Ethernet cable
- Full ITU surround support up to 7.1 with integrated plug-ins for surround-to-surround balancing and mono/stereo-to-surround
- Full plug-in latency compensation ensures full sync of all plug-ins inside each instance of the software
- Fully mappable touch parameter automation - control all plug-ins on slave computers right from the master and start/stop a sequencer or DAW with the space bar from within Ensemble PRO 5
- Post-effect plug-in rack for processing after pre-fader sends
- Audio input plug-in allows for routing audio signals from the DAW into Ensemble PRO 5, e.g., to turn it into a virtual FX rack on a slave computer
- Event input plug-in allows for routing MIDI data from a DAW into Ensemble PRO 5 to circumvent the single MIDI port limitation under the Audio Units and VST2 formats
- VST3 and RTAS connector plug-ins provide support for up to 48 MIDI ports and 768 audio ports per instance
