Samyang 14mm f/2.8 Reviews

Doesn't come to focus on blue

I received a poor copy of this lens. It doesn't come to focus on blue and in fact it's hard to tell if if comes to focus on any color, but blue stars were the worst, huge and bloated with offset bright halos around them right in the center of the frame. Right side had large amounts of coma. So something isn't manufactured correctly. Disappointing since I purchased for a trip to Yellowstone and didn't have time to test it out ahead of time. It's got to go back and hoping for a better replacement.

Got a terrible copy and returned

I gave 2 stars only because I successfully retuned this lens. This lens is usable on the daytime, but my copy is certainly a terrible choice for night images. I got this lens and it produces a really weird coma (at least at f/2.8) and it's almost impossible to use when shooting night photography with these point light sources. I am returning this lens. Use for daily photography can be fine but not good enough.
