Manfrotto's Q2 L Bracket provides a quick, easy, and precise way to change your camera position from a horizontal to a vertical orientation. The lightweight magnesium alloy bracket features anti-rotational systems that provide a snug fit on the camera body, guaranteeing stability even with heavy-duty professional equipment. The bracket keeps the weight centered over the tripod, avoiding lens movement when changing position. While the bracket can be used with cameras without a battery grip, use with a grip is preferable to keep the lens centered. Two 200PL-14 type quick release plates are built into the bracket for Q2 quick releases.

Will this work with a Nikon D750 - with or without an extra battery compartment? Would it with on a gimble device, I understand that would require rebalancing the unit.
Yes, it will work with a D750 and a battery pack but I would recommend using it without, especially if you are using a gimbal with it.

I have an Induro PH3 head that uses a mounting plate similar to the Arca-Swiss mounting plate. Will this bracket fit the channel in the Induro head?

There is no need to attach the plate, the L bracket already has it attached.
