The PAG PAGlink PL96e 14.8V V-Mount Lithium-Ion Battery is a linking battery -- it can be attached and directly connected to up to seven more other PAGlink-series batteries. It can be used while linked and charged while linked. The point of linking is to combine the capacities of all the batteries to achieve very high capacities and a higher current-draw capability. Linked batteries form a high speed serial network that enables the batteries to communicate with one another so to control charge and discharge. The network allows linked batteries to act as one when communicating with the camera. The PL96e (and other PAGlink batteries) can be used with HD broadcast cameras, digital cine cameras, 3D camera set-ups, and DSLRs.
Please note: no more than 3 batteries are recommended to be linked for use on-camera, but up to 8 can be linked off-camera and for charging.
- Heavy duty contacts successfully support high-drain applications
- Maximum rated continuous output is 8A individually, 12A when linked
- 5 LED run-time and capacity indicator shows camera run-time in hours and minutes
- When the battery is linked, run-time is displayed for the total of all connected
- In a linked set-up, the rear battery can be hot-swapped for uninterrupted camera power
- Enhanced low temperature performance allows PAGlink batteries to operate at -4°F (20°C)
- Lithium-ion cells have no memory effect; the battery is totally recyclable
- SMB (Sony)
- I2C (IDX)
- Reversed SMB (RED)
- Analogue 0V to 5V (Anton Bauer)
- Battery adapts automatically when connected to a viewfinder
- Independently tested and certified to comply with UN standards
- 96 Wh capacity is suitable for transport on passenger aircraft, in hand-luggage, without quantity restriction
- Compatible chargers: PAG PL16, PAGlink Cube, PAG Micro Charger, Sony chargers
- Most any reputable V-mount lithium-ion charger can be used
- State-of-charge is displayed as a percentage, in 6 increments
- Typically, eight fully discharged batteries fully charge in ten hours
- 3 over-current shutdown systems
- 2 over-voltage shutdown systems
- 2 under-voltage shutdown systems
- 3 thermal shutdown systems, including a non-resetting thermal fuse
- Fail-safe electronic protection system features Parylene coated circuits to protect against electrolyte
