MuxLab RCA Balun Kit Overview

The MuxLab Stereo Hi-Fi 2-Pack RCA Balun Kit is a set of two baluns that work together to enable an analog audio source with hi-fi sound quality. One balun connects to the analog source and the other to a hi-fi amp system, and over an optional Cat5e/6 cable, the first balun carries an unbalanced signal to the amp system, which amplifies the signal with hi-fi sound. The Cat5e/6 cable can be as long as 3,250 feet. The baluns each connect to their source by an integrated 6" RCA cable with a male connector.

The simplest example of an analog audio source is a cassette tape player.

I bought these to replace Niles baluns that were failing. These have excellent sound quality and work as expected. If I had it to do over again, I'd get the -F model. That model eliminates the RCA pigtail and adds female RCA sockets.

We are using the product a little different than intended to facilitate communication to a remote camera location over an existing Ethernet cable. It is working great!

Could I put 1/4" TRS plugs on the other end of the Ethernet cable and plug them into balanced mixer inputs?
