Hoya C-ALP62UV overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 62mm alpha MC UV Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya alpha UV filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, a higher light transmission of approximately 96% is possible, providing you with additional contrast and high color fidelity.

The alpha filters are constructed from optical glass and a precision milled aluminum frame.

    Hoya C-ALP62UV reviews

62mm alpha MC UV Filter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap Insurance I've been using UV filters on all my lenses since the first SLR I bought in 1972. Then it was needed to help color correct film. However, about a year later when I dropped my camera on some rocks the only damage it sustained was a cracked filter. Had the filter not been in place most likely the lens would have been damaged. $10 filter vs. $300 lens (in 1972 prices) convinced me to ALWAYS have a filter of some sort in my lens. When I bought my new Sigma 18-250mm lens I bought this filter for it. After leaving the B&H Superstore I unpacked the filter before I unpacked the new lens just so it would be ready to put on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Filter fits 10-18mm Sony lens perfectly I purchased this high quality filter to protect an expensive 10-18mm Sony ultra wide angle lens that I purchased for my new Sony NEX 6 mirrorless camera. The filter fit perfectly and on my first photoshoot demonstrated that it, indeed, did not add any coloration or contrast to my images that came out sharp and clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product Any lens I buy, I have a filter on the front, to protect the lens. And I like to have spares, plus polarizing filters, and adapters to let me use my 77mm filters like IR, etc. Most of my lenses are 77mm, but a couple, like the Canon 40mm f/2.8 are 62mm. So this is in my bag of tricks, in case I need it. The Venus Laowa 60mm 2X Macro is in the 62mm filter club. Love that lens!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality at Low Cost This filter is fine for the every day non pro photographer. The cost is low but the filter is multi coated and doesn't have any distortion. It does the job without any fanfare. I have them on every lens I own. I've had no problems with the thread sticking or being crooked. I've had no problems with lock rings coming off. Kind of tough to clean though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear as Day and Great!! This lens filter is great, the glass is so clear that at times it looks like it's almost like looking at a ring of metal with nothing in between. This helps to protect my actual lens from much of the dust and debris that it will encounter. Great lens filter, I plan on getting this version for my other lens that is 55mm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works After experiencing a lens' front element got scratched, I always add a filter to all my lenses. I also walk around without the cap on every day, so the filter adds an extra protection. I have yet to notice any quality degradation or flaring. So far all photos look good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love UC Filters Bought this filter for my new Tamron 18-200 lens - headed to Sochi next week. Looks like it was a good purchase, since the weather is not at all cooperating for winter olympics. Have always used UC filters on my lenses when not using a specialty filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! What is there to say about a UV protective filter? And yet, when I replaced my old one, which shattered, with this one, I instantly saw the difference in my photos, especially in terms of sharpness.
