Nikon 7576 overview

  • 1Description

Improving on their Monarch 3 design, Nikon's black 8x42 Monarch 5 Binocular benefits from upgrades to the glass and optical coatings to improve image quality with the same focus on comfort and performance the Monarch line is known for.

Featuring extra-low dispersion glass elements with anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics and highly reflective dielectric-coated and phase-corrected roof prisms, the Monarch 5 produces bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color rendition and minimal color fringing across the entire field of view. Its 8x magnification brings subjects up close, but without the noticeable hand shake often associated with higher power optics, while the 42mm objectives boost its light-gathering ability to improve views in challenging light such as during the pre-dawn and late evening hours or in foggy and cloudy weather. With the combination of glass, prisms, optical coatings, and a long eye relief, users can enjoy a comfortable and immersive observational experience in most lighting conditions.

Complementing the optical performance are construction details that make this binocular durable and comfortable to use. It has a lightweight and durable reinforced polycarbonate ATB chassis and is protected by rubberized armor that is accented with indented palm rests to give it a secure non-slip grip. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature variations and environmental conditions. A one-piece ocular rainguard covers the eyecups as the binocular hangs around the neck and prevents rain and spraying water from filling them, and the objective lens caps are also tethered to keep them safe from being lost on the forest floor. This version of the Monarch 5 is offered here in subdued black, so it won't draw notice in the wild, at the stadium, or when sightseeing around town.

Optical Performance
  • 8x power magnifies objects without sacrificing field of view or exit pupil
  • 42mm objective lenses improve light-gathering ability without adding excessive bulk or weight
  • Roof prism light path ensures optical tubes remain thin for a compact form factor
  • Extra low-dispersion glass reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations for increased contrast, improved color rendition, and sharpness without distortion across the entire field of view
  • Phase-corrected prism coatings reduce internal interference to improve light transmission, contrast, and resolution
  • Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission across the entire visible spectrum for accurate color rendition and improved contrast and clarity
  • Highly reflective dielectric prism multi-layer coatings boost internal reflection to >99% to maintain image brightness and improve contrast and clarity
  • 330' field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip center focus wheel allows for precise focus control, even while wearing gloves
  • Right eye dioptric adjustment collar helps to compensate for individual eye prescription
  • 56-72mm interpupillary distance range allows easy use by a wide variety of people
  • Twist-up/click-stop rubber eyecups for use with or without eyewear
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter for hands-free use
  • Long 19.5mm eye relief helps to reduce eyestrain and improves viewing comfort
  • Wide 5.25mm exit pupil will completely cover most pupils as they open and dilate in low light to keep the full scene in view
Construction Details
  • Environmentally friendly Eco-Glass is made without lead or arsenic
  • Lightweight and durable fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate chassis
  • Chassis material is temperature resistant, preventing the expansion and contraction that is common with metal, which can cause the optical components to move out of alignment over time and prevent sharp focus
  • Textured protective rubber armoring provides a slip-resistant grip, especially in cold and wet weather
  • Indents on the sides of the optical tubes are ergonomically placed where the hands naturally fall for a more comfortable feel in the hand and a more secure grip
  • Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes and environmental conditions
  • Black coloring allows it to remain inconspicuous in all environments
  • One-piece tethered ocular rainguard protects eyecups from water pooling in them from rain or spraying water when hanging from the neck
  • Tethered fold-down objective lens caps prevents losing them during observation sessions
  • Weight: 21 ounces

Nikon 7576 reviews

8x42 Monarch 5 Binoculars (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 93.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value The new 8x42 Monarch 5 (Model# 7576) is a great value. The clarity of these binoculars rivals those costly several times more. The long eye-relief enables those wearing classes, to easily see from edge to edge of the viewing field. The rubberized body makes for comfortable and safe handling of these waterproof and fog proof binoculars. The 8x power ensures steady viewing that sometimes can be shaky with higher powered models. The only Con, is that the eye lens cap is far from being small enough (in diameter) to stay on. If you leave the lens cap on the neck strap, you can use the strap to cinch the lens cover in place when the binoculars are not in use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning and functional As an ocean lifeguard, I've used several types of lower grade binos in the past and eventually just gave up on using binos all together because they would always have issues. After I was introduced to the Nikon Monarch 3, I knew I had to have them. I ordered the Nikon Monarch 5 and have been using them for a few weeks now. There's nothing I don't like about them. They provide a crisp view for me to evaluate what's going on. This is vitally important for my see people's facial expressions and know if they're in distress. I also like the attached lens covers which make it easier to keep the glass protected from the elements. This purchase was well worth investment! Compact, lightweight, low bulk...all attributes that are highly appreciated that I didn't have with past binos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent binoculars! I waited for this new model to hit the market after reading positive reviews about it. They weren't wrong! I use them primarily for birding, so need them in many situations and under different light conditions. They feel comfortable and sturdy in the hands, and don't seem to be too heavy. The eyecups adjust in and out easily with a twist, depending on whether or not you are wearing glasses. The view through them is really bright and very sharp--also, they focus at a very close range, which is a plus when looking for birds in the nearby bushes. They have a one-piece rainguard attached to the strap, and separate covers (attached to the barrels) for the objective lenses. They are a great buy for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for bird watching We ordered these binoculars based on reviews from Cornell Labs and references in various birding magazines. Not only were we pleased with the results, but the clarity of the images and close focus capability exceeded our expectations. The binoculars are water resistant, fog proof, and rubber coated for a good grip. Another nice feature is the attached lens covers which are not a hinderence to viewing. They out perform our 4 other pairs of binocs. We would recommend them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new go to pair of binoculars! I now own 3 pair of Monarch's. The original version is hanging by my back door. The She version is in my glove compartment and these are on my neck every day. I teach binocular use during my Intro to Birdwatching tours and I am always asked to recommend products. I tell the consumer to compare the Monarch to binoculars in their price range and buy what they can afford. The B&H website is great and the staff is terrific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied New Birdwatcher I bought this for myself to start birdwatching, based on internet research on the specs. It seems a good product for a moderate price. I like everything about it, especially little features like eyepiece caps that attach to each other and to the strap and won't get lost, attached objective lens caps, comfortable strap. the image is clear crisp bright. It seems well built, lightweight. I have taken it into the woods a few times, and found some birds. We got my wife another brand 10X30 IS binoculars, for the image stabilization features, and both items perform well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I use the binocular for hunting (birds and deers). Comparing to my other binoculars (5 times more expensive) renders very little difference. The lenses are fantastic, eye relief works perfectly and it's rugged - yet reasonably compact. The price/quality ratio is great and I'd recommend it to everyone wanting a long lasting dependable binocular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allrounder perfection for a great price I already had a nikon 10x50 that proved useless because of the size of that beast so it ended up in my cupboard till someone asked about it to view a passing boat and by the time I got it it was too late. I wanted a binocular that is good for all purposes be it sports, theater, walk around and while travelling through the long desert road of South Sinai Egypt. I compared both the Monarch 5 and the Monarch 7 for the 8x and the 10x magnification, as I could hardly see the small difference in detail and the same time felt more comfortable on my eyes I chose the monarch 5, 8x42 I love the sturdy built quality the robust design that fits nicely in my small hands and I am using it far more often because of that. The difference in clarity might be a factor if you are a hunter in the dusk or at dawn but I thought the price difference was too much to justify that. Go for it and enjoy it.
