Canon A2500 Overview

  • 1Description

The silver Canon PowerShot A2500 Digital Camera is a compact point-and-shoot camera featuring a 16.0 megapixel image sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor to produce high quality, well-detailed imagery. In addition to still imagery, these two technologies work together to enable clear 720p HD video recording that is accessible via a dedicated movie button. Improving the quality of both still and moving images, Smart AUTO is available and will intelligently select camera settings, based on 32 pre-defined shooting situations, to give you accurate exposures to best suit the scene in which you are photographing. To benefit shooting in low-light situations, Digital IS helps to reduce the appearance of camera shake to create sharper-looking images. All of these imaging technologies are supported by the 5x optical zoom lens, which gives a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 28-140mm, giving a wide-angle to telephoto range that is suitable for almost any type of subject matter.

Canon A2500 Reviews

PowerShot A2500 Digital Camera (Silver) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product User friendly camera. Takes very clear photos and video clips. We like that it has a rechargeable battery as we were buying a lot of AA batteries for our old camera. The photos are incredible and I can't just credit myself for taking good pictures. The quality and color are very sharp. Great overall product at a very affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera for the money! This is my first digital camera, and I love it. The quality is amazing. Very simple to use. My favorite thing about this camera is the rechargeable battery, and it lasts a long time between charges. You can't go wrong with the Canon brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon quality this was bought as a gift for a first time digital camera user, what's really nice about this model is its ease of use. I also like how small it is, so it can be carried in a purse or pocket. The only thing I can say badly about it, is it might be so small and light you'll forget you have it with you, then you'll miss some great photo opportunities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the Money This camera is great for the money. It is easy to use. The HELP feature makes it simple to learn what each setting is used for. I was skeptical given its small size, but it takes great pictures. There's a mount for a tripod, though I wish it would have a fold-out viewfinder for taking selfies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Toy... Having spent years lugging around my heavy DSLR, I decided it would make sense to invest in a small, easy to carry, point & shoot too. I live in FL and do lots of Gulf fishing. As such, I've been afraid that my pricey DSLR would accidentally get wet or lost overboard. The Canon Powershot A2500 solves that problem. I'm amazed at what a quality camera this is... hard to believe that I paid less than $$ bucks for it. What a bargin! It takes quality photos at a price that is less than the SD card that's in my DSLR. It calms my fears about it getting wet or lost in the saltwater environment that I play in. It's obviously much more economical to replace the A2500 rather than my very expensive DSLR... and its much easier to use too! If you're in the same boat (pun intended), I highly recommend the purchase of a Canon Powershot A2500... You won't be disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not what i expected i have always loved canon products, but i am not happy with this one. it appears to be metal in the picture and it is actually light plastic, both the black and the silver parts of the camera. i am not happy with the time it takes before you can take another picture is way too long, saying busy so you cannot take another picture for several seconds. i am also not crazy about the quality of the images on the viewing screen. i think i will return this one and purchase another model or a nikon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and easy to use. Love it. I have been looking for a small point and shoot to keep in my backpack, especially since my iPhone is loaded with pics and keeps running out of memory. I love this camera and it came at a great price!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from May return it! I started in the digital arena with a Kodak P&S, then a Canon DSLR. I wanted another P&S for convenient times when I didn't want to carry my larger DSLR. I have shot about 400 images with this model so far. It has extremely limited range, usually giving blown out highlights. For the best shots prepare to stand very still and do not let the subject move, the lag time between pressing the shutter button and the shutter actually opening feels like a whole second and then you continue to hold it VERY still for the image to be less than fuzzy. The menu is very limited on the camera and I still can't find all the tools that are described in the product listing. Focus is pretty slow. I wish I could discover how to make the flash fire it is not consistent in auto. I still love my other Canon but I can't say that about the A2500
