Professional HC-110 Developer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kodak HC110 This is one of the best Black and White film developers out there. It is very versatile and produces excellent fine grain results. I use a 2.5 oz. per Gallon of H2O mix. at 68 degrees, and Develop Ilford 5X7 sheet film FP4 for 12 minutes, and HP4 for 8 minutes. Agitation is 10 seconds every minute and no agitation during the last 2 minutes. Normal Stop and Archival Fixer. Even at this Dilution it stays good in the 5 Gallon Tank for a month, and depending on volume it can be replenished. The Negatives show Fine Grain and a Wide Printing Latitude. Great for Landscapes, Portraits and all around Commercial Work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Developer I'm a professional fine art photographer and use exclusively HC-110. I went through a long period of trying many different developers and settled on HC-110 as it consistently gives me great negatives that pop with good contrast. It's a high energy developer and acts quickly. I only need develop for 5 minutes which is a big plus as I regularly need to develop many batches of film and it would otherwise take forever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from best to devide to smaller bottles With the 1L size I ordered 8 4oz. amber glass bottles from a local supply house in Seattle. I then decanted the large container into the 8 bottles. Used 1 bottle at a time it should keep for extended periods. I use this 1:60 as a one shot. seem to work fine on most films and at 1:60 the processing times are long enough to time accurately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Favorite B&W film developer renewed HC-110 has long been my favorite B&W film developer. It was quick and easy, virtually foolproof and produced excellent negatives with good contrast. A few months ago, I was told it was discontinued and I scrambled to find a replacement. Freestyle photo in California claims to make the same developer under their own brand name for less, but they are in California. Finally, Kodak HC-110 reappeared, now manufactured in Germany. It is supposed to to be the same developer but I've used it once so far and it's not. Time will tell if I learn to work with this new formulation as satisfactorily as the old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried and true developer I've been using HC-110 for more than 30 years and it has always given me consistent results. Mostly, I use it diluted 1:63, rather than Kodak's 1:31 Dilution B, and it gives results that are similar to D-76 mixed 1:1 with water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic product. Not so fantastic size HC-110 is a fantastic developer. Very long lasting and produces consistient results. The only issue with the product is that B&H only sells the quart size product. Because of how concentrated the developer is I don't think that I will ever be able to use up all of the product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Economical developer with some gain From the standpoint of value, HC-110 is pretty glorious. I use it with HP5+ and using dilution B (1:31) it works well for my situation. I found H (1:63) is too grainy though didn't do as much testing there. Overall the results are grainer than say Ilford ID-11 but given the price it represents huge value. Of note I haven't tried testing results when pushing film although I believe this is a compensating developer and should be good for those situations.
