Impact STS-MT overview

  • 1Description

The Impact STS-MT Mastertop Shooting Table is ideal for large product photography, ecommerce shooting, still lifes, art objects or food. At 24 x 51" there is room for multiple products and vertical objects without seeing the top of the shooting surface. Folding legs integrated into the design elevate the translucent plexiglass sheet 19.5", allowing you to backlight it and light from underneath as well as from the front. The shooting table sets up and breaks down quickly - simply slide each end of the plexiglass under the tabs built in for that purpose and start shooting. The sheet features glossy and matte surfaces.

    Impact STS-MT reviews

STS-MT Mastertop Shooting Table is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gets The Job Done Positives: This table is portable and I like how the plexiglass is shiny on one side and more of a matte finish on the other. Nice flexibility. Cons: The table is a little too low for me. I am 5'11 tall and would like to see this a little taller. Cons: Table is very lightweight. I can't call it flimsy but you definitely need a sandbag or two even when photographing plates of food or anything heavier. Cons: My plexiglass is not flat so I have to add clamps to hold the plexi down and attempt to make it flat. Bottom line, you get what you pay for and this does the trick with a little finesse on my part.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I use table for product photography. Photos must have no shadows and shooting from underside is a must. This works well but the table top is so thin that anything over a pound will cause the plexiglass to sag. You will need many rolls of gaffers tape because the plexiglass will not lay flat and must be taped down to the frame of the table. Put it up and leave it up to save time and tape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Table, Not Perfect I ordered this table by recommendation of staff at B&H. I am using it for product photography (small items) in conjunction with a macro lens and strobe setup. It works just fine, but I wish there was versatility in height. It feels limiting because my lights/tripod can only go so low. Easy to assemble, nothing fancy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied for the price The Mastertop Shooting Table top is small (be sure to measure out dimensions) and low to the ground. I cut some one-inch pvc pipe to use as leg extensions so I can raise table 18 inches as I wish. Tabletop is not meant for large or heavy items (I photograph single flowers in a small glass vase) but works just fine for small items. For the price, I'm satisfied. Is as described.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Plexi glass arrived warped. The plexi shooting table arrived warped. Had it arrived intact I would have been satisfied. It's too much of a hassle to pay for the shipping and have the warranty cover it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but could be better For the money, this is good and it works. However, the table is too low. You have to stoop or crouch down behind the camera to shoot at a reasonable angle, and it leaves very little room to position a light underneath to back-light the surface. When mine arrived, the plexiglass sheet was too long to create a smooth curve. I cut slots in the end to fit under the tabs and now it's fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes I would by again. Using it for my photo classes. It doesn't take up too much space. Good for small still life setups and photographing small and medium ceramic pieces or sculpture.
