I looked everyone for one of these cables department stores, computer repair shop, all over the state. thanks to their VERY wide selection of inventory. I was able to get my VR headset and laptop connected and functioning.
Failed to transmit signal

Purchased this cable to connect a MacBook pro to a 34in ultra wide LG display. Should be simple plug and play but unfortunately it did not transmit signal to the monitor after connection. I even utilized a dongle to make sure that my port was not defective and confirmed that the port was transmitting signal but this particular cable was not. Maybe a lemon... idk.

This would heavily dependent on the specific models of Surface and iMac. If both items have mini display port then this would be compatible.

Can I use this with the MacBook Air Thunderbolt Display port?
Yes. I have used this cable for several installations with LG Monitors and MacBook Pros (I'm sure Air will work fine too.)
