Once configured, you benefit from up to 12 minutes of runtime at half load and 3 minutes of run time at full load, with up to 1,500 joules of integrated surge protection. Aside from standard power outlets, this UPS also comes equipped with a 1-in, 1-out combo Phone RJ11 / Ethernet RJ45 port, a 1-in, 1-out coax port, a serial port, and a USB Type-B port. Included with this UPS is a USB Type-B to Type-A cable.

General Features
Battery Backup
Supplies power long enough for equipment to properly shut down when utility power fails. Helps prevent loss of data and minimizes the component stress caused by a hard shutdown.
Surge Protection
Diverts excess voltage away from sensitive electronic equipment during an AC power surge or power spike to prevent damage.
Data Line Protection
Prevents power surges that travel through telephone, coaxial, and Ethernet lines from causing damage to electronics.
Line Interactive Topology
Exists when a line interactive UPS has an autotransformer that regulates low voltages (e.g., brownouts) and over voltages (e.g., spikes) without having to switch to battery.
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
Provides clean, consistent AC power by automatically regulating low voltages and over voltages, within defined tolerances, when incoming utility power has minor fluctuations.
Simulated Sine Wave Output
Uses pulse wave modulation to generate a stepped, approximated sine wave to supply cost-effective battery backup power.
GreenPower UPS Bypass Design
Patented design allows utility power to bypass the UPS transformer when AC power is stable, which reduces energy consumption, noise, and heat buildup.
Multifunction LCD Panel
Displays immediate, detailed information on the UPS battery and power conditions, alerting users to potential problems before they can affect critical equipment and cause downtime.
Quiet Design
Minimizes noise during operation for a quieter work environment.
PowerPanel Personal Edition Software
Provides a user-friendly dashboard interface for controlling and monitoring the UPS. Free software download available.
ENERGY STAR
This model is an ENERGY STAR certified Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system. ENERGY STAR is the trusted government-backed symbol for energy-efficient products and practices that help save money and protect the environment.
Three-Year Warranty
CyberPower will repair or replace a defective UPS system (including batteries) within three years of the purchase date.
Connected Equipment Guarantee
CyberPower will repair or replace properly connected equipment if it is damaged by a power surge.
GreenPower UPS Technology
GreenPower
GreenPower UPS Technology from CyberPower consists of three different energy-saving designs that improve operating efficiency, reduce heat generation, and consume less power than conventional UPS models.
ECO Mode
ECO Mode is a form of bypass technology that can be switched on full time, set for noncritical times (such as nights and weekends), or switched off. This flexibility can help conserve power and save money.
Bypass Design
Patented bypass design allows current to bypass the transformer and automatic voltage regulation (AVR) when utility power is normal, thus reducing energy consumption and associated costs. Because utility power functions normally most of the time, the bypass design allows for substantial energy savings. This technology also reduces heat generation, an important factor in decreasing operating costs.
High-Efficiency Design
Decreases power consumption to create an ultra-efficient backup battery for home and office use.
Power Protection without the Noise
Power Protection
CyberPower UPS systems harness high-efficiency ventilation, GreenPower UPS technology, and innovative system components to ensure ultra-quiet operation.
Noise Filtering
Noise filtering improves picture and sound quality in audio/video systems. CyberPower uses advanced EMI/RFI noise filtering coils to decrease problems caused by electromagnetic fields and radio frequency interference. The filters smooth minor current fluctuations which cause disruptive humming and static.
Line Conditioning
Line conditioning with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) prolongs the life of sensitive electronic equipment. AVR line conditioning adjusts the incoming AC voltage, keeping it within safe levels and reducing stress caused by power fluctuations.
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
Automatic Voltage Regulation
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) in line-interactive UPS systems stabilizes the incoming AC signal to maintain output power at a nominal 120V by controlling high and low voltages without resorting to battery power. This increases battery life and lessens the likelihood of data loss, memory freezes, and system crashes.
How AVR Works in a Line Interactive UPS
A line interactive UPS includes an AVR autotransformer, which is a special type of transformer designed to switch between powered coils of wire in response to variances in utility power input, thereby increasing or decreasing the magnetic field and the resulting output voltage to connected equipment.

This type of UPS tolerates undervoltage brownouts and overvoltage surges without consuming backup battery power by automatically selecting different power taps on the AVR autotransformer. During normal operation, incoming AC power bypasses the autotransformer (where voltage highs and lows are controlled) while also charging the battery. When the incoming voltage falls below the AVR range, the UPS switches to battery backup, and the DC-AC inverter circuitry is engaged. Power will continue to be supplied by the battery-inverter circuit until incoming voltage returns to the range manageable by the AVR.

CyberPower CP1500AVR Reviews

Pairs with QNAP NAS wonderfully

By Kevin

These will gently shut down your QNAP automatically during power failure according to Bob Zelin. So I followed his reco. You just have to plug in a USB cable. I'm using a long one (not the one they supplied), so I hope that still works. CyberPower wouldn't help me and tell me if it should or shouldn't work. They were more afraid of being sued than being helpful.

Okay, but...

A nice enough UPS, save for the RJ45 Ethernet connectors. They make flaky, intermittent contact and are unusable. Bought two of these UPSes and will keep them, but they barely rate the three stars.

Great product, easy to install and manage

This is my 2nd CP unit. The battery need replaced in my last unit after years of service. The power panel app is easy to use and provides the monitoring information that I need. The same information can be viewed on the unit front panel as well. I intentionally over size for more runtime, as I have a number of external drives attached to my Mac and want to provide time for the restoration of my power source or for the automated and controlled shutdown of all attached devices.

Good sized UPS capable of running a small office server for 1+ hour. Lots of information accessible on the LCD (more than typically found on other units). CyberPower Business software is easy to set up and use.

Great UPS So Far

By Chris
Rated 5 out of 5
Date: 2022-11-07

Purchased this UPS a couple of weeks ago and installed just last week. It isn't connected to my desktop computer and monitors but rather the Cable Modem, NAS, NAS backup drive, OTA DVR hardware and a network switch. With these few items, simulating a power failure (by unplugging the unit) showed a battery capable of running for 3 hours, which should be plenty of time to gracefully shutdown my operation of the power does not come back on.

three years and going strong

Bought this for my NAS more then three years ago. It has not moved and is still going strong. It is on a high shelf where the ambient temp is warm. I thought it might not last this long. But not a single issue or problem. I suspect I will get a few more years out of the battery. This was a great purchase.
