CELESTRON LABS CB2000CF Overview

Celestron Lab's CB2000CF Compound Binocular Microscope is ideally suited for students and hobbyists with its comfortable binocular head design and broad magnification range. Its four-objective click-stop turret holds the 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x achromatic objectives and the instrument comes with two sets of eyepieces that produce magnifications from a practical 40x to a powerful 2000x.

The 4.3x4.7" stage is articulated on the X and Y axes to place the exact area of interest precisely in the center of the stage. An adjustable-intensity halogen bulb under the stage provides the necessary illumination and the manually adjustable iris and Abbe condenser ensures the perfect amount of light and beam spread to illuminate the specimen without washing it out. Use the coarse and fine focus knobs, and the right-eye dioptric adjustment, to bring all specimens into sharp, clean focus.

question

Is it possible to buy affordable replacement light bulbs for the illumination system?
Asked by: CarlosMauricioCalle
We don't sell them. You would have to contact the manufacturer.

Check your information: The stereomicroscope ...

Check your information: The stereomicroscope should not be confused with a binocular compound microscope, which has double eyepieces. The image in such a binocular compound microscope is no different from that obtained with a single monocular eyepiece. So, does a binocular microscope render images in 3D as you claim?
Asked by: Nick
The term stereo and binocular microscope have been used interchangeably by different manufactures. Stereo microscope are usually low powered ones as in field or dissecting microscope. where you are looking at a dimensional (3D) object. Binocular microscope are high powered compound microscope where you are looking at a biological on a glass slide with a cover slide over it (non-dimensional.) 3D effect very minimal.

question

I notice The Celestron CB2000CF does not have dual lighting (no upper light, only lower). How good is the illumination for opaque objects? Do you find this a limitation?
Asked by: Padma
We use it for fecal parasite screens in my veterinary practice, so the lack of an upper light source is not an issue for us, as the samples are suspended in a brine solution and placed on the slide for microscopic examination.
