For 4k into your computer, use the HDMI output, you must make sure you get a capture card HDMI->USB with 4k OUTPUT, not just 4k input. Most capture cards calling themselves 4k have 4k input, 2k output. Only a few percent have 4k output.

It's not like a photo camera. It's a good quality no adjustments video camera.
It has a good 1/2.3 chip bought from Sony, and it sends a 4k HDMI video to a screen or through a capture card HDMI->USB to a computer. Typically you have a small menu of industrial type adjustments.
It has also internally a capture card for a USB signal, but usually that's not as high quality as the HDMI signal. The 30 frames per second means that the movements will look smooth.
I have used such a type of CS or C mount (= 25mm mount) to make an industrial type microscope. You need maybe $200-$400 for a table, microscope lens, lights, etc. The HDMI output is good, it means that you connect it directly to a screen or through a capture card to your computer.
I must have spent in time about $1000 total for a DIY 1000x microscope which gives me even 3d views of anything I am curious about, banknotes, skin, hair, leaves or bugs, and it's always on a table by my side. Your children can be made curious about the physical world.
The Chinese use such cameras for microscopes industrially, for fine soldering or quality checking.
A typical use with the lens is for DIY security cameras. A newer use is as an eye in robotics.
When I don't use such a camera in the microscope, I use it a side camera for Zoom calls. It's better than a webcam, but you must make sure you get a capture card with 4k OUTPUT, not just 4k input.
