Nikon P1100 Reviews
Amazing capability for the price
This camera is amazing for the super zoom capability it gives. There is a Bald Eagle's nest near my home, about 1/4 mile from the road. With my eyes I can hardly see the nest let alone what is on/in it, but this camera allowed me to see the adult sitting on the nest, and then the three chicks after they hatched. I go back a couple of times a week to check on the progress and I have lots of interesting video showing the progress. I have an older dslr with a 70-300 zoom and it would not even come close to this level of detail. I purchased a UV filter to protect the lens, but it completely ruins the image quality - it isn't a cheap filter, so I'm not sure why other than the high magnification of the lens. Also, I tried connecting to my phone with the camera and it sort of worked, but not well enough to justify the effort and frustration. So I leave the camera on airplane mode and pull out the SD card to transfer files to my computer.
Great value.
We've had this camera less than 2 weeks. We really like it. The camera is hard to hold still. We put a monopod on it for stability. I captured an Eagle in a tree from about 100 yards. Surprising how good it was. We read the battery is only good for about 250 pictures. We have had no battery issues. We like it so much that 2 other family members have also ordered the same camera.
