    Olympus 261053 reviews

Zuiko Digital 35mm f/3.5 Macro ED Lens is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great addition at a great price. As an amateur photographer this was my first everpurchase of a macro lens. Because of the price, I wasskeptical of the quality of the lens. I didn't use it somuch for the first couple of months of owning it, but in thepast month it has become an indispensable tool in my camerabag. I've had great success with shooting smaller objects withthis lens. The images are clear with the use of a tripod andthe colors I've gotten are very nice. The depth of field andbokeh are both great. I would highly recommend this lens to anyone on a budgetwho is looking for a quality lens to add to their inventoryof camera gear. This really is a great addition. Expertise: Amateur

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-priced find For years I used a Canon AE-1 as my primary camera, then wanted to try some digital, so used a couple of Kodak digitals. I missed the ability to do macro photography, which is my favorite, so I recently purchased an Olympus Evolt E-510 and got this lens to go along with it. I was out shooting all weekend at botanical gardens and out in the desert, and can report that I am VERY pleased with this lens. I really liked the light weight of it, and, since I was shooting mainly outdoor shots in sunlight, the focus and response were perfect. I'm really pleased with this purchase and would heartily recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lens for equally great price I use this lens primarily for macro nature photography and have been very pleased with it. There is a learning curve with it but basically it is relatively easy to use. My only complaints are that I sometimes get a small shadow when doing macro work and have to experiment with my shooting angle to ensure it doesn't appear. It also can have a difficult time focusing close-up; you have to have patience. For the price, you can't beat the quality of the images you get with this lens. Overall, it's the perfect accessory to the Olympus camera collection and helps expand your photographic horizons without breaking the bank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job it is supposed to do I'm a little biased because I love Olympus gear, but when I ordered this lens, I was a little concerned about a 200.00 macro lens and the quality it would provide. Olympus did not let me down. This lens focuses as close as I would ever want to, and the other feature that really impressed me was the glass itself is recessed back into the lens providing anti-flaring and as well protecting the glass from bumps and bruises during day to day use. The images are tack sharp and the only issue I've had which to me is not much of an issue at all was that in lower light it did a focus hunt once or twice. This is a must have carry around lens because it also works fantastic as a standard (70mm equiv) street lens. The large aperture provides some excellent bokeh and the lens is surprisingly light weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A no brainer for the money I've had this lens for just a few weeks but Im already very impressed. It is very compact and extremely light making it a good around town lens. I've been using a DSLR (E-410) for less than a year so the prime lens reminds me of shooting with my old Spotmatic. This lens is razor sharp, really striking at times. I like to take insect shots and I'm afraid this lens doesn't work for me in that capacity because you have to get awfully close to your subject. It's great for flowers and other inanimate things. It's also great for portraits and landscapes, if you don't need wide angle. At this price it's practically a gift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best thing I bought in a long time! I just cannot stress enough how GOOD this lens is! Razor sharp images, 1:1 size (2:1 compared to 35mm) great contrast and colours, reasonable fast AF, great bokeh, metal back. Because of the four thirds system, DOF is slightly larger and thus better for macro photography. There's only 6 small elements in this lens, but I think it only makes this lens more appealing and special. I haven't noticed any distortion. I also tested it for portraits. Great skin rendition, contrast and details! Using other brands like Nikon & Canon we learned that in order to get top quality lens we have to pay - a lot. Not so with Olympus. This macro lens falls in standard lens Olympus category, but in reality, it's a pro quality! The price is so low that you can buy it without any hesitating. Unlike other competitors, Olympus really gives you tons of great stuff for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, small and very useful I have been taking pictures since 1950,using Exakta,Olympus OM2,OM4T,and lots of macro and other gear!!This is fabulous user lens for most of my pictures, and I tend to keep it on my E330 most of the time!!The size and versatility are great!!It is a bargain for the price!!I got it from BH about 7 months ago and I could not be more satisfied!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I use this lens mostly for my artistic abstract macro work. I also use it for portraits. It has great bokeh and very narrow depth of field for its focal length. It is a true 1:1 macro. For the price, any photographer using the 4/3 mount would be crazy not to add this lens to their equipment. Fantastic price for a sharp prime macro lens.
