Rycote InVision Reviews

such a solid shock mount!

In a gear world of faulty shock mounts that go bad because of poor construction, this one is amazing and so versatile. It fits the largest microphone I own (Lauten Eden) as well, which for any Eden owners, you know a fitting shock mount is incredibly hard to come by!

The future

Honestly, you now the future when you see it. This is it. I believe the days of old Chinese cheaply made heavy alloy shockmount cages (most are actually are made of cheap metals alloys) with their elastic mounts that go bad with time, are nearing an end. These were/are products based on a an old functional but as of now , an outdated design. I have a Lauten Audio Clarion. It weighs 2 pounds. I have always had problems with my original shoumount. The mic and company are awesome...their shockmount for this mic not. Let's get to the point. PROS: - no ageing elastic to replace ever - Just about indestructible...(drop it, step on it, but..don't throw it in the fire) - fits different sized large diameter mics that weigh 2 lbs. or less (this model UVM-VB) - able to support heavy mics - vibrational Isolation exceeds other shock mounts - no sag for my 2lb. mic (original heavy metal shock mount sagged constantly) - Solid attachment...I have had my mic upside down, and wouldn't be worried about it slipping out - actually fits the diameter of my Clarion (its diameter is about equal to a wine bottle-no joke) CONS: - none I can think of Summary : Even though it is more expensive, It IS a Brilliant design that works and is the future (BTW- these shockounts are standard with certain RODE mics already). These ARE more expensive, but worth every penny. If lost/stolen I would buy again without hesitation. If I had to buy again, would get the pop filter package with the shockmount. BTW ---I have no affiliation with RYCOTE of B&H

Will this shock mount be compatible with the Warm ...

Will this shock mount be compatible with the Warm Audio WA-47 microphone?
Asked by: Alexander
The Rycote InVision USM-VB Universal Microphone Shock-Mount is compatible with microphones with 2.16-2.67" (55-68mm) diameters; the Warm Audio WA-47 Large-Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone has a diameter of 90mm, so these two products are not compatible.
