After months of anticipation, Samsung is finally bringing the massive Odyssey Ark monitor to market. The Ark, originally announced in January at CES, is a 55-inch, ultrawide monitor perfect for gamers with a 1000R curvature that wraps around your field of vision for maximum immersion. Unlike other ultrawide monitors that are 32:9, such as the Odyssey Neo G9, the Ark features a more universally functional 16:9 aspect ratio, allowing for comfortable gameplay.

The Ark features a 165 Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth gameplay, a 1 ms response time, and is AMD FreeSync Premium Pro capable. This display utilizes Quantum Mini-LEDs to achieve next-generation depth and delivers exceptional picture quality. Additionally, it boasts a whopping 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and is HDR10+ compatible. Clocking in at 1000 nits of brightness, the Ark is also exceptionally bright.

Unique to the Ark is a Cockpit Mode that rotates the display vertically. In Cockpit Mode, the Multi View feature allows you to stack three screens on top of each other for multitasking. When set to the usual horizontal orientation, Multi View allows the user to split the display into four screens at once so gamers can play, stream, and browse simultaneously.

Four corner speakers and two central woofers produce a 60W 2.2.2 channel with the lowest 45 Hz of any gaming monitor or sound bar. Sound quality is further enhanced with AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos technology, which ultimately results in an immersive surround sound experience.

Also unique to the Ark is Samsung's inclusion of a separate Ark Dial, which gives users full control over a variety of functions such as Multi View and Quick Settings. The Ark Dial is solar powered and is helpful for managing the interface as opposed to traditional buttons on the back. It can also be used to control the Ark’s ambient lighting, which has an LED light strip built into the bottom edge of the display.

Samsung is also promising a Gaming Hub mode to access top streaming services and your game library instantly. A Game Bar also lets you review and tailor game settings instantaneously and view important settings like FPS within the Ark's integrated UI.
