ASUS Announces New ROG Lineup for 2025

At CES 2025, ASUS announced a wide range of new gaming-focused devices for their Republic of Gamers (ROG) lineup, including new Zephyrus G, Strix G, and Strix Scar laptops, as well as the Flow Z13 gaming tablet. Utilizing the latest technologies and components from cutting-edge manufacturers like AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA, these new ROG devices look to usher in a new generation of powerful performance and graphical capabilitiy.

Zephyrus G14 and G16

Designed for the gaming enthusiast, the Zephyrus G series comes in two different formats. The Zephyrus G14 features a 14” 1800p display, while the Zephyrus G16 offers a 16” 1600p display. Both displays are built on ASUS’s ROG Nebula OLED technology, giving you a 240 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color space, Pantone Validation, and Dolby Vision HDR. Both models features a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series graphics card that will boost performance across your system for high-fidelity visuals.

The Zephyrus G14 and G16 can be outfitted with up to 64GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 2TB of storage. Both models eature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a single USB-C port, three USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.

ROG Strix G

Available in 16” and 18” models, the ROG Strix G series gives enthusiasts a solid foundation for their gaming and creative endeavors. You can choose between two different processors, opening a variety of choices and multiple upgrade paths for each respective CPU.

There is an AMD Fire Range HX 16-core variant which supports up to 32GB of DDR5 memory via dual SODIMM slots, up to 1TB of storage, and NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics. It also features two USB4 ports, an HDMI output, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. It also features Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity options for your networking and peripheral support.

The Intel variant includes a Core Ultra 9 processor, support for up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, and up to 2TB of storage. Two Thunderbolt 5 ports are available along with three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless protocols are available for your wireless networking and peripheral needs.

All ROG Strix G systems feature a high-quality ROG Nebula 1600p IPS display with 240 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color space, Pantone Validation, G-Sync, and Dolby Vision HDR.

ROG Strix Scar

Designed for the power gamer, the ROG Strix Scar offers massive power and comes in 16” and 18” form factors. Equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, the ROG Strix Scar can easily handle multiple operations. It also supports up to 64GB of DDR5 memory and two 2TB SSDs in RAID 0 mode, and is available with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.

Additionally, the ROG Strix Scar has built-in Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connectivity alongside two Thunderbolt 5 ports, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI video output, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.

The display supports ASUS’ ROG Nebula technology, incorporating a Mini-LED panel that supports 1600p resolution at 240 Hz refresh rate for a clear and smooth picture. It also offers 100% DCI-P3 color space, Pantone Validation, G-Sync, Dolby Vision HDR, and 1200 nits brightness.

Flow Z13

Perhaps the most interesting device to come from ASUS is the Flow Z13 gaming tablet. This CNC aluminum crafted lightweight device comes with an AMD Ryzen Max+ 395 16-core processor, 128GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It also features AMD’s RDNA 3.5 graphics.

The display features a 13.4” IPS panel, giving you a 1600p resolution with 180 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time, as well as pen and touch support. The Flow Z13 also offers 100% DCI-P3 and Pantone Validation, along with Cornering Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring images are clear, colors are accurate, and the screen is well protected.

Connectivity-wise, the Flow Z13 features two USB4 ports, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, HDMI video output, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking. In terms of camera array, the Flow Z13 is equipped with a 3DNR + 5MP IR front-facing camera and a 13MP rear-facing camera.

ASUS ROG XG Mobile

Rounding out all the laptops, ASUS announced the ROG XG Mobile External Graphics card. This unique semi-transparent housing drives performance by connecting to your system to boost graphical fidelity. But there’s more to this device as it offers massive expandability, giving you two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a 5 GbE LAN port, an SD Card Reader, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and two Thunderbolt 5 ports.

The XG Mobile supports various NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop GPUs up to a 5090, giving you massive expandability and performance that can easily scale to your workload. Keeping it cool under heavy loads is the ROG Intelligent Cooling system which uses a vapor chamber, dust filter, and rear-side vents to provide up to 54% more cooling.
