Even with the tremendous speed Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) has to offer, traditional wireless network connections can often encounter heavy congestion over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, which can interfere with reliability. However, the ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000, the first Wi-Fi 6E tri-band gaming router from ASUS, allows you to bypass the noise by taking advantage of the relatively unused 6 GHz signal, which adds seven high-speed 160 MHz channels for a total bandwidth of 11,000 Mb/s across all three frequencies combined. With the 6 GHz band, compatible devices can maintain high-speed wireless connections without having to scan for the least-congested channels, allowing you to enjoy smooth 4K video streaming and low-latency online gaming. The main caveat is that only Wi-Fi 6E devices can take advantage of this frequency. However, the eight amplified external antennas and 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, combined with MU-MIMO, OFDMA, and Beamforming technologies, help to ensure reliable connections regardless of the frequency. Integrated network performance tools prioritize devices and packets can also further optimize performance.
In addition to the 6 GHz frequency, the ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 has a host of advanced features that are designed to enhance and secure online experiences. They include a 2.5GbE WAN port for multi-Gigabit Internet connections, which can be used by itself or combined with one of the four Gigabit Ethernet ports with Link Aggregation to take advantage of two separate service providers. This router also supports VPN Fusion, which allows you to run an ordinary Internet connection and a VPN simultaneously so that you can have security and maximum gaming speeds. Other features include RGB lighting that can be configured to reflect the router’s status such as CPU load, network load, and external attacks in addition to a variety of presets to suit your mood or style. You can also add ASUS AiMesh-compatible routers to create a mesh network for seamless, expanded wireless coverage as you roam through your home.
