Epson has released two new SureColor P-Series large-format printers: the SureColor P7570 24" and SureColor P9570 44", capable of producing museum-worthy prints. Accompanying the two behemoth photo printers is the multi-use SureColor T3170x 24" Desktop Printer.
The latest SureColor P-series printers are geared toward creating high-quality photographic prints that will last for generations. Color gamut and accuracy are front and center with the new UltraChrome PRO12 pigment ink, capable of reproducing 99% of the Pantone Formula Guide solid-coated standard.* (Through third-party testing, Epson claims that when displayed, prints made with its UltraChrome PRO12 ink can last up to 200 years in color or 400 years in black-and-white).** Both printers feature real-time Photo and Matte black ink switching (meaning no downtime or wasted ink when going between matte and photo ink), as well as Black Enhanced Overcoat, a new driver print mode, for improved DMAX leading to a wider contrast ratio, boosted clarity, and elevated sharpness on glossy media.
Roll and sheet paper are supported so you can make your prints as long as needed for the job. For speed and quality, PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead technology provides a speed boost up to 2.4x over previous generations, while a new customizable 4.3" color LCD touchscreen interface streamlines operation. Cut sheets are handled via a top-loading feeder door and an internal rotary cutter is built in for cutting most roll media. Finally, a sealed roll media door protects against dust, and built-in LED light allows you to inspect prints as they are made.
Aimed at architects, engineers, and general-purpose printing, the new SureColor T3170x is designed around efficiency and simplicity across multiple workflows. Four refillable super ink tanks make for efficient printing and, because the printer includes two sets of ink bottles (140 ml per bottle), there is enough ink included to print a significant number of posters or CAD drawings. Wi-Fi Direct printing means you can print from mobile devices, as well as computers, without the hassle of cords or adapters. Image quality is maintained by PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead with Precision Droplet Control capable of up to 2400 dpi. You can print sheets up to 11x17" and rolls as wide as 24"; A1/D-size prints can be made in as little as 34 seconds. A 4.3" LCD touchscreen simplifies use and its compact form factor allows it to be used on a desk or optional stand.
