Avoid the dreaded “Low on Ink” warning with a low-cost, high-volume printer from HP’s vaunted LaserJet Tank and Smart Tank series. HP’s tank printers come with a two-year supply of ink (or toner), so even the most prodigious of printers can forego refills for the foreseeable future.
For the LaserJet models, a two-year supply of toner means users can print up to 5,000 monochrome pages before it’s time to reload. Smart Tank owners can expect up to 6,000 black pages or 8,000 color pages from their included ink supply.
According to HP, the voluminous print count means the LaserJet models deliver the “lowest cost per page in black-and-white.” The Smart Tank offers a similar “ultra-low cost-per-page” performance, regardless of whether you’re printing color documents or black-and-white.
Not only will these printers help save you money, but they’re designed to help save the planet, as well.
The LaserJet printers, for example, utilize HP’s proprietary Toner Tank System, which uses 75% percent less plastic than other toner systems and helps reduce their environmental impact. Similarly, the Smart Tank features an eco-friendly design that utilizes parts from recycled printers and other electronics to help curb plastic waste.
HP’s “protect the planet” approach to design and sustainability helped earn the Smart Tank and LaserJet printers a silver rating from EPEAT and recognition as environmentally conscious printer options.
Planet-saving, cost-cutting features aside, both series of printers promise exceptional quality, fast printing times, and a full complement of connectivity options, including wireless printing using one of several mobile apps. Despite their many positive similarities and shared highlights, each printer series (and the models contained therein) feature specific hallmarks and capabilities, which make them better suited to one use case or another.
If you’re in the market for a cost-cutting, conservationist-friendly tank printer that can quickly produce large volumes of high-quality prints in color and monochrome, the Smart Tank 7001 All-in-One is probably your best bet.
If color printing isn’t a priority, but saving time, money, and the planet are, you should consider both models of LaserJet Tank printers.
The LaserJet Tank 2504dw offers all of the signature features of an HP tank printer: high volume, exceptional quality, low cost-per-page, and two years’ worth of free toner. It only does monochrome, and it lacks any copy or scan functions, but if all you need is to print black-and-white, the 2504dw is probably the way to go.
However, if you do need something a little more multifunctional, check out the LaserJet Tank 2604sdw. It offers all of the same great features of the 2504dw, plus it comes with added functions like copy and scan.
Regardless of which model HP tank printer you choose, rest assured it will be cost-effective, eco-friendly, and the first time you see a “Low on Ink” warning, we’ll be living in the future.
