2022 was a big year for Lexar, especially for its SSD Department, which launched three new SSDs in the latter half of the year. The new drives, the Lexar NM800 Pro, NM620 and a 2TB version of the NS100, are designed specifically for those who want top-of-the-line performance. The NM800 and NM620 drives are NVMe SSDs in the M.2 form factor while the NS100 is a SATA III 2.5" drive.

Lexar NM800 Pro
Lexar NM800 Pro is one of the latest PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSDs to hit the market. Designed for gamers, professionals, and creators, it boasts read speeds up to 7500 MB/s and write speeds of 6500 MB/s. It comes in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, although the 1TB and 2TB versions have slightly higher specs, upping the speeds to 7500 MB/s. The NM800 Pro utilizes a 12nm Innogrit 1G5236CAA controller for lower power consumption and longer battery life for all your high-performance computing needs. Additionally, it has an average mean time before failure time of 1.5 million hours.
PS5 owners will be happy to know that their system is also compatible with the NM800 but will first require installing an additional heatsink. The version with the built-in heatsink helps your rig maintain peak performance over sustained periods of time by dissipating the extra heat that can arise as a result of thermal throttling.
Lexar NM620
The NM620 is the other NVMe SSD to drop from Lexar. It features read and write speeds up to 3300 and 3000 MB/s, respectively, and comes in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. Compared to the NM800, this SSD is more of a midrange pick as it utilizes PCIe Gen 3 versus the NM800's Gen 4. It also clocks the same MTBF time as the NM800 of 1.5 million hours. According to Lexar, the NM620 is built using its in-house DM620 controller. The Lexar NM620 represents an improvement over its predecessor, the NM610, with faster sequential read and write speeds and a longer 5-year warranty.
Lexar NS100
Also new from Lexar is a 2TB version of its NS100 SATA III drive. The Lexar NS100 is a 2.5" SSD that is designed for the most entry-level needs. While not being the fastest , its still significantly faster than using a traditional hard drive, not to mention the NS100 will use less power and make no noise compared to drives with spinning disks. This SSD fits into 2.5" drive bays that support drive heights of 7mm and is capable of sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s. The Lexar NS100 comes in five capacities; 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, 1TB and now 2TB.
