Microsoft just unveiled its latest Surface devices: a compact and lightweight 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro tablet. Both devices feature a powerful 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor and crisp PixelSense LCD display.
Both the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro are powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor, which features a 45 TOPS rated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU designed to handle the bulk of your AI tasks. Speaking of AI: Copilot now has a dedicated key, allowing you to bring up helpful features like Recall, Click to Do, Improved Windows Search, Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects, and more. It also has integrated graphics provided by Qualcomm Adreno, giving you additional graphical power to handle a variety of tasks with ease.
The Surface Laptop features a 13-inch PixelSense LCD touchscreen display with a 1920 x 1280 resolution at a 3:2 aspect ratio. The 1000:1 contrast ratio, sRGB and Enhanced color profile, and adaptive contrast options makes color pop off the screen, which is great for graphic designers. The touchscreen also features a strengthened glass panel for additional reliability.
Meanwhile, the Surface Pro features a compact 12-inch PixelSense LCD display with a 2196 x 1464 resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, giving artists and creators a clean and smooth experience for drawing and watching media. It also has a 1200:1 contrast ratio, sRGB and Enhanced color profile, and comes color calibrated right out of the box.
Both devices leverage 16GB of LPDDR5x memory and offer your choice of either 256GB or 512GB of storage, both providing you with quicker loading times and getting into your workload quicker than ever before. Additionally, you can render various projects quickly and more efficiently.
Surface Laptop and Surface Pro both offer additional security features, ensuring your information is always protected thanks to the chip-to-cloud design. Microsoft’s world-class security is spread throughout multiple layers including hardware, firmware, software, applications, and identity to make sure everything is safeguarded. The Surface Laptop also features a fingerprint sensor located in the power button for biometric security.
Two USB-C 3.2 ports are found on the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, with an additional USB-A 3.1 port found on the Surface Laptop. Both systems utilize Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking and Bluetooth Core 5.4 technology for peripheral support. The Surface Pro also has an integrated kickstand and supports the optional Surface Slim Pen and Surface Pro Keyboard.
Displaying an emphasis on sustainability, Microsoft gave the devices a long-lasting battery constructed from recycled materials, providing up to 16 hours of local video playback on the Surface Pro and up to 23 hours on the Surface Laptop. Both devices are also constructed with recycled materials, come in wood-based fiber consumer packaging, includes clear visual icons for easy repairability, and more.
